OK guys, I’m writing this as an appeal for help.
I’m sure you have seen over and over again the “pointless” threads that appear on the board all the time and the locking/moving/deleting that goes on thanks to the staff here. If you roll your eyes when you read them, just think how we feel!
So many of you here know the rules really well and quite often post messages on threads telling users about alternative threads or duplicates. You guys keep this place running really well and we need that to continue, just for it to go on step further.
What I am asking for now is for more of you to report the threads. Reporting threads doesn’t get people into trouble; it just helps us keep the board running efficiently. As far as we (the staff) are concerned, we spend a lot of our time searching out threads that shouldn’t be here and although we are trying our hardest we can’t be everywhere at all times. For those of you who do report threads, thank you so much, we really appreciate it and the support you are giving to INO.
So please, in future, if you see a thread that doesn’t seem right or is a duplicate or whatever, please click the report button on the right.

Besides the reports are only seen by the mods/admin so there is no way of people knowing it was you if you are uncomfortable with it. It really helps us. |

Posts: 25453 | July 23rd, 2008 at 06:55pm I know you kids are trying to be helpful and advise others about threads, but if the thread need to be locked by a mod or admin we need to know, I've locked countless threads that users have told the thread creator about the rules or given them a link to the correct thread but then they have not reported it. We're always extremely grateful to those that report threads, because as Lulah said we all need to pitch in to keep INO ticking over. Another issue that I have been faced with is that people aren't doing a search before they make a thread, it does really help to search, that way we don't end up with pointless threads.
