Oh man. I love The Stones so much. Mostly because I grew up with my dad's LPs.
Anyhoo, Let it Bleed and Exile on Main Street are epically epic. 'Nuff said.

Same here ^_^
I've got a lot to thank my dad for tbh.

I was just listening to Shine a Light, such a great song.
The guitar solo in it is so short but like, mindblowing.

They're alright. Never really got into em, but I can give out some respect

I remember watching a VH1 countdown of the 100 greatest rock songs and "Statisfaction" was #1. I mean come on its a good song, but no way does it beat Jonny B Goode, Purple Haze, Sunshine of Your Love or Voodoo Child SR!

]I think it is a matter of personal opinion with that.
I mean, I love Satisfaction, I would dance around to that all day, I actually did once.
I, being a Stones fan would say, hell yeah to it being number 1. But I'm biased.

Yeah, I mean, sure there are a load of songs out there better than Satisfaction but whatever the song, the Stones deserve to be at number 1 as much as anyone else.

Angie has always been one of my favourite's of theres, properly beautiful.
Also, I'm playing Sway and Sister Morphine alot these days.

Angie makes me cry. I can't listen to it much these days, but it is so beautiful.
Start Me Up is still high on my favourites list, being the first Stones song I actually heard. And I love putting that up full ball, I can't listen to it quiet it doesn't feel right.

And they are also the only band I can stand listening to the music from after one of them has been replaced. I'm glad it was Ronnie though, or I probably wouldn't of kept listening to them. Like, Mick Taylor was ok, but as a permanant replacement I don't think it would have worked, he was too quiet or shy for the band, Ronnie fits right in there.

Still having said that, I think Brian was the best at it, and it would have been better if they didn't kick him out, then you know, him dying. Which is just horrible. But yu can't help bad luck. It's such a shame Brian died though, he was so talented. I mean he could play a lot of things.

And I quite like You Can't Always Get What You Want. It has very good lyrics. I also think it's true that you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might just find, you get what you need. It's very nice.

And Charlie is just so cute.

Yeah I mean, in a way, its one of the problems with bands who've been going so long, its rare you have the same line up as when you started but I also love like, the different sort of, era's you get, know what I mean? You just got to appreciate what different people bring to it I guess. Its rare these days you get bands who are willing to replace members you know, like, do whatever they can just to keep the music going.

One of my favourite movie quotes of all time, from Almost Famous, "You think Mick Jagger's gonna be out there tryin' to be a rock star at age 50, you are sadly, sadly mistaken".

You Can't Always Get What You Want is great, I agree. To me, the Stones is just epitomised by Jaggers voice I mean, it's not technically that good but it is just perfect despite that. Its still sounds great.

Oh I agree completely, well, in The Stones case anyways. Taylor had some good chords in there, and he is amazing at guitar anyway, I just didn't think his personality went to well with them, you know what I mean? But apart from that, I mean / love his guitar work, it's really good. And Ronnie is just as good. And he kind of fits in better with the rest of the guys too, like him actually as a person. I don't know, I'm weird. I feel kind of mean though, cos like, Ronnie went in The Stones straight from The Faces, and I still listened to them, but then when Kenney went from The Face into The Who after Keith died, I couldn't listen to them after that. It's most likely just because, I mean, it's Keith MOON, you know? It just doesn't work without him.

Irony. Almost Famous is one of my favourite movies at the moment, it's really good. But honestly, I think Mick is going to be up there doing all his shit till he dies, I mean, he'd probably die on stage the way he is going, but like, if you look at Keef, fuck, if he isn't dead yet, I don't think he is going to die, and whatever he is taking I want some. He is still going like he is 20. It's so amazing.

Mick's voice isn't the best thing I have ever heard. But it's like, it's Mick Jagger, that's his voice, I love his voice. It's one of those voices you just know it's him, he is the only one who has a voice like that. And you're right, i mean, unless they use tapes on Shine A Light, al the those performances they do on there, then Mick's voice is still just so good. I don't know how they doit, but it astounds me so much.

Oh yeah I know, I mean, it sounds stupid but you've got to be able to fit in with what the rest of the band are doing I mean, all that shit with Ronnie and that russian girl? It's just the exact thing you'd expect from these guys who are still living like they're 20.

Yeah it's like Led Zeppelin after John Bonham died. I think by hanging up there boots after his death they made themselves legends. Better to burn out than to fade away and all that.

I've always completely loved Almost Famous, it's got the best soundtrack. Ha ha yeah I agree, in psychology, we had to bring in photos of skinny models, [we were doing anorexia and bulimia] and someone passed round there pictures and I was like "Erm. This is Mick Jagger."
And tbh, I'm pretty sure Keeefff is invincable. With all that falling out of a tree stuff, I remember hearing that on tv like "Keith Moon has bla bla bla".

Yeah I love his voice on the slower stuff, like Play With Fire, I love his voice on that, and Wild Horses.

Ugh, that shit with Ronnie pisses me off so fucking much. As much as I love and respect that man, he needs a good kick up the ass. After I read his Autobiography and he was all, 'sdkjfhsdf omfg lol i love jo so much lol sjdfhdjf' it's like a slap in the face that he is fucking around with someone like that. But even having said that, I spose rockstars will be rockstars, nothing I can do about it.

Indeed dear boy, I think that's what The Who should have done, I mean, I don't know where they got off thinking it would ever be the same after Keith died, it's just not, and lol, Roger even said once that Kenney made him want to kill himself on stage, oh lawd, ilu Roger.

LOL Mick is pretty skinny though, like STILL, and Keef, I honestly don't know how they still perform like they are teenagers and are fucking still alive. And the fact that only one of the original band memebers is dead, how the fuck did that happen? I mean, Bill doesn't tour anymore, but that's only because he is like 10 years older than the rest of them, but with like The Beatles, John and George are dead, with The Who, Keith and John are dead. but with them it's only Brian. I just can't understand it, with all the shit they got up to. Keef is defo invincable, he has to be man.

Oh I love the slow stuff, you really get to hear his voice, it's so nice... in a weird kind of not very nice way. But omfg, it's Mick fucking Jagger sdjfhsg /fangirl

You guys, I have According To The Rolling Stones on layby at he bookshop.
It's like The Stones version of The Beatles anthology.
I was wondering if any of you guys have read it or anything and if it's any good.
I mean, I got it for $40 which is good considering it's bigger than The Beatles one and when my brother bought the beatles one it was $70.
But I just wanted to know what its like, like good reading or whatever.

Thanks!
