Alright, it the seamed time to start a thread for the Messiah of all non-singers.

We all know MCR has gained influece from Bob as do countless other musisians including the Stones, the Turtles and esspecially Jimi Hendrix.

What do you guys have to say?

I think some of my favorite tracks are:
Like A Rollin Stone
The Times They Are A Changin
With God On Our Side
All Along The Watchtower
It Ain't Me
Blowin In The Wind
Can You Please Come Crawl Out Your Window?

Also has anyone here realized that the original track of "Desolation Row" from Highway 61 Revisited runs 11minutes and 22seconds long! That makes for a perfect credit rolling song as it will last the whole way through. Though I wouldn't be surrprised if the guys skipped a verse or two. ~ Rex

YES!

bob dylan is my hero. in my opinion, the greatest songwriter that ever lived.
my favourite album is blonde on blonde.

some of my favourite songs are:
visions of johanna, mr. tambourine man, sad eyed lady of the lowlands,
one more cup of coffee, maggie's farm, and highway 61 revisited.

he's definitely one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. no question.

I love Bob Dylan, he's one of the best musicians ever.
His songs are amazing, the lyrics to almost every single song are incredible and his music is really catchy.

And, he's been to Newfoundland.
So, of course, anybody who willingly comes here to play is awesome. xD

Ah, Bob Dylan is one of my all-time favorite people to have ever existed. I am seeing him on the 27th, and and will pass out from the joy of it if he plays "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue."

Well I glad to see we have some fans here on INO. In a single day this thread already has more posts then the one I created for Jimi Hendrix.

Wow, youz goin to see him live! I didn't even know he was still touring. Does he still play some of the oldies? I'd sure hes sick of them all and he seams like someone who wouldn't play them to often. Regardless hes definatly someone I'd want to add to my concert list.

What did you all think of "I'm not There"?
I enjoyed it, but man was it artsy! But I thought it was really cool with the six different actors all playing him in different times and loved Richie Havens Camio.

I've never seen him before, so I don't know if he still plays the old songs, or only newer stuff, or what. But most artists mix their older stuff with newer songs, so fingers crossed.

The concert is in less than 7 hours. Yay!!!

Oh, and I haven't seen I'm Not There yet, but did anyone one else see the documentary Martin Scorsese did over Dylan? It is so amazing, and a total must if you're a diehard fan.

I also love the gospel stuff, Sam. I haven't actually heard a Dylan song I didn't like.

Right, but he seams like someone who wouldn't play anything he didn't want to, and I know of a lot of older artists can't stand it when they're asked to play at same songs over and over.

Have a great time! I'll have to look into that, I always love a good documentary.

So how did you all get into Dylan?
As cool as he is, its not like he's that popular with our generation. For me I started with Jimi Hendrix (who I apsolutly love) and then worked my way back when I found out Bob was a major influence. For a while I only had a few songs and now I finally just added four CDs to my library. That combined with the news of the MCR cover, I thougtht I should start this thread.

Last night's show was great...and disappointing.

The disappointment had nothing to do with Dylan's performance--the bass was turned up so loud that it was impossible to make out what he was singing for the first 90 minutes of the 2 hour concert! It was just the "thud, thud" of too loud bass with the occassional sweet guitar riff and blast of harmonica coming through. They finally fixed it in time for "It Ain't Me, Babe," "Highway 61 Revisited," and a song I didn't know (it sounded like one of the newer ones?), followed by the encore--"Like a Rolling Stone!" The place exploded as soon as it started, and everyone was still screaming for like ten minutes after he exited the stage for good.

He looked good, really rocking out behind the keyboards and stomping his foot to the beat when he played the harmonica. He wore a black suit with white pinstriping down the side of the pants leg, and a huge gray hat. All in all a great show--maybe the bass wouldn't have been so loud if we weren't so close, but then I wouldn't have been able to see him, so I think it was a fair trade off.

He played here a couple months ago, and I didn't go because I couldn't get a ride, but I know people who went.
They said he still played a lot of his old songs, but some of his new songs too.
