Did you like your school's mascot or think they could have picked something better? Due to a conflict or controversy, did your school's mascot ever change to something completely different, and how was this perceived by the school community? In junior and senior high , we were the Galloping Ghosts. I didn't so much mind the mascot, but I think they could have designed him better. Seriously, "he" looked like a member of the KKK running with the football in his hands completing a pass. Thank god he was redesigned a few years ago. And in college now, our mascot is the griffin. I really like that they picked a bright red mythological creature to represent us, considering we're a Catholic college.

But the only thing that bothered me about the "newish" mascot costume was it's physical appearance. I heard most of the times a girl was dress up in the costume as a football player/Viking with an enormous mask/helmet type thing. But it would have been sooo much better if a guy dressed up rather than a girl. Starting tomorrow, I will be a Bulldog. I think it's okay. Nothing too special, but it's alright. I don't have much to say about it right now. But I am proud to be a Bulldog because the baseball team are the current national champions.

A marauder is a member of one of the sides of a war raiding for pillage, or roving around carrying out violent attacks. While "marauder" is most often used in the context of war, there is no clear-cut division between it and "robber", and in many contexts the two can be regarded as synonymous Fail.

"There is some controversy amongst students over the school's mascot, which is the Galloping Ghost. It is named after University of Illinois college star and professional football player Red Grange, whose nickname was The Galloping Ghost, due to the way he slipped through opposing defense "like a ghost". Upon his visit to the school, the mascot was named in his honor. The Ghost is represented by a tall, pointed head which, in combination with a head-to-toe white costume, somewhat resembles a person in Ku Klux Klan regalia. There are periodically movements within the school to change the appearance of the mascot, usually to a ghost with a more rounded (therefore less controversial) head, but as of 2006 none have come to fruition. The large mosaic of the Ghost on the floor of Abington Senior High School's main lobby has mystified some visitors who are unaware of the school mascot and mistakenly interpret it as a celebration of White supremacy. The irony of the mascot is further accentuated by the fact that rival high school Cheltenham's mascot is a large black panther."
