Wow. I remember saying "Happy 27th Birthday" exactly one year ago today. One year went by so fast.
I think in the past year- Mikey truly opened up and wasn't the quite little guy anymore.
I really admire the dude after everything he's been through- being able to step back on his feet.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKEY WAY. and I really hope he has an enjoyable day- and I truly hope he lives a long happy life.

28 years ago, on sept 10th, Donna Way gave birth to a tiny little boy. The boy grew up and one day, at a Smashing Pumpkins concert, he said "I wanna be a musician". After surfing through highschool and making it to college, his brother Gerard made him drop out to start a band that, in their minds, could change the world. And it did.
But the pressure was too much for the little boy, the drugs and the alcohol seemed more friendly and fame wasn't something he could deal very well with. He was at the verge of suicide or completely losing his mind. But he made it through, with the help of those who love him, his family, friends and even his fans, he made it to see another day.
Now the little boy is all grown up, happily married and successful in what he loves the most, which is making music. Music that changed the hearts and minds of a generation. Music that gave teenagers (on not so teens) a voice and a meaning, a reason to keep fighting and to keep living without being afraid.
A reason to go on and see another day.

Happy birthday Mikey.

You mean so much to me is not even funny, you're my inspiration and my reason not to give up and get out of bed everyday.
I know there's no chance you see this, but still I wish you could read it just so you can know there's a girl in a missing corner of the world whose life you've changed.
One day at the time, remember??
