Nutella With Forks Motor Baby Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 808 | I love Theatre. :] I preform with a "Youth Theatre" in my town. (LYT) 2005 - Seussical 2006 - Pirates Of Penzance 2007 - High School Musical ("/) 2008 - Honk! There's a winter concert every year too, where we preform songs/dances/scenes from random musicals and plays. There's three groups, so we've all different traditions. The group I'm in, the traditions are as old as LYT. - First night of every show, the banana girls* "crown" the banana. - The banana stays there until it goes yucky. - Every night after the vocal warm up, we do the "chicken dance". - And in the dressing rooms, we keep shouting MacBeth, during the dress rehersal. *there is 70 people per group. About 12 of those are male. And that group is split in two - Juniors (6-11) and Seniors (11-17) - and there's roughly four lads in the Seniors.. So, yeah. Banana Girls. |
radio ga ga. Demolition Lover Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 18521 | So Idk if this should go here, but this group of 20-something year old people came to our school today, and they're with some Shakespeare modern thing. idk. I wish I remembered the name of them, but I don't. D: But they put on the play Much Ado About Nothing for the seniors, and it was SO FUCKING GOOD. they made it more ~funny and like, the more serious parts made you pay attention, and idk, it was just a whole bunch of awesome. I REALLY enjoyed it and I REALLY wish I could remember what the thing was, because the leading dude said that if you search for them online and look on the website, a lot of different people and them are putting on plays more places where you pay $5 for every show, where he said normally it'd be like, $45 to watch or more. so idk, I saw this and thought it was where I should talk about it. haha Our school drama team got to hang out with them and eat with them, which was when I was in my food service class, so we made the food for them, which was kinda cool. haha And idk.. it was just over all awesome to have them in the school for a day. It made me leave wanting to go into acting, but I never have in my life, so I know I probably never will. XD |

I've been in plays all my life, thanks to my first school -.-. 1998 - Christmas nativity, I was an angel D:. 1999 - Celebrating the millenium at Christmas, I was a football fan :S. 2000 - Christmas Nativity, again. I was a shepard, I think :S. 2001 - 'A Christmas Carol' I was in the choir. Suckish. 2002 - 'Dick Whittington - The Musical!' I was a merchants wife D:!! 2006 - 'Score!' (based on some Shakespeare thing) I was a football fan and member of the chorus. I made a fool of myself xDD. And I never EVER intend to go on the stage again |

Rexperience Bleeding on the Floor Age: 32 Gender: Male Posts: 1052 | My school just finished our production of "The Sound of Music" The whole experience was better then we could have ever expected. My school is known for good theatre but this was unreal. Every performance was amazing in its own way and we sold a ton of tickets. We actually sold out for the first time ever and had people sitting in the ilse. That is really saying something considering we did two weekends and can fit 875 people in our auditorium. Now for the our Advanced Theatre Show, and my final production, we are doing "The Good Doctor" by Neil Simon. It is a collection of hilarious and touching skits held together by the narration of an old play write. In the opening sketch I play a Russian General who gets sneezed on while seeing a show, and in the third scene I play a Priest with a toothache lol. I'm so excited to preform! |
believing. Salute You in Your Grave Age: 30 Gender: Male Posts: 2318 | My school had a few plays; they were really keen on doing what Shakespeare did before: All the characters were guys in Romeo and Juliet. So, of course, was Juliet and the nurses and Lady Capulet, and others like that. The weirdest part was because my last name is Capulet (oh lord, embarassing) they made me be Juliet. And, it was fun. Odd, but enjoyable. Aha. A few others were Sound Of Music, and a silent play called "How To Eat A Banana In Five Seconds". I was cast as one of the kids in Sound Of Music, and in the silent play, the waiter who works in the ice-cream parlour. xD |
