I LOVE CHRIS BROWN.

I'm sad about what is happening and what has happened, but he's still a great artist regardless.
I really really really love him. <333333

I have renamed this thread, added in a link to Chris Browns Myspace to the first post and asked if people are fans.

Don't make a thread and name it as you had named this one just because you have read an article and want to share it.

Threads for artists are fine but for the purpose of talking about them, not just to start a thread to post about an article.

Thanks

I've totally lost all respect for this man.
Even if you've been exposed to domestic violence, there is NO excuse for hitting a woman.

I agree with what you just said. I have now read he has lost his Got Milk ad. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedishrag/2009/02/chris-brown-jus.html.

Honestly, I have never liked him.
I lost any tiny bit of respect I had for him after the whole thing with Rihanna.
She was hospitalized (or so I have heard)
And she had this revealed to the whole world
I dont think she's done anything to deserve such embarrassment like this.

It's tough for me to separate an artist from his ethics, and Chris apparently does not have any. He didn't just strike her, he put her in the hospital. Whether I'd been a fan of his work or not, that's just unacceptable to me. I turned my back on Michael Richards for dropping an n-bomb; I'm certainly not going to back Chris.

^ I agree with you, deb. I have a hard time seperating music from musicians. little quirks I could look past, maybe, but domestic violence it never okay. I am also a little outraged at people's comments on this. I read an article in People magazine where a "mutual" friend of Chris Brown's and Rihanna's commented on how they both are embarrased of how things "went down." I thought, what should she be embarrased about? Plus, a couple of people at my work actually made the comment ,"she must have done something to deserve it." It disgusted me! One of them was a woman, no less! A fight over a text message left her in the hospital, that isn't embarrasing or funny, it's serious. His fans are roughly 90% female, good luck to him trying to rebuild an image.

NO ONE DESERVES TO BE BEATEN PERIOD.
there is no excuse for chris browns behavior. even if she started it.
to put someone in the hospital is inexcusable and unacceptable, especially to lay your hands on a woman.
and his tyra banks interview from a while ago states that he's seen his mother being beaten up as a child and he's not for abuse.
pure bullshit my friend, because if you were so disturbed by the negative abusive childhood memories like you say you are then you wouldn't dare go there.

what goes on in his brain?
he is in the public eye just like every other celebrate, did he he not think
anyone was not going to know?

I don't know if anyone has seen the updates but the fight was started by a woman texting chris's phone. And the LA County is reporting that Rihanna claims this is not the first time he has gotten physical with her. Honestly the more I read about this, the angrier i stay.

We obviously feel differently on that.
And I completely respect what you said. (:
I do still respect him as an artist. Because his music, at least to me, has nothing to do with what he's done.
But I do not respect him as a person.

I just feel like if that's how people might view it, do people feel that way about Michael Jackson's "child molestation" ... or Britney Spears "mothering"?
Do you know what I mean?
I'm not trying to create a seperate discussion on that, I just wonder if that could also have happened?

Michael Jackson has been a lost cause to me ever since he paid that family off - nuff said, Michael, you're hiding something creepy. I turned my back on one of my favorite guitar players of all time, Pete Townshend, when child porn was found on his computer. There are certain things I simply cannot support. Regarding Britney, she didn't do anything wrong as far as I'm concerned. She hasn't said anything ignorant or committed any crimes. I don't like people who think they can criticize someone else's parenting skills. Unless that child is being actively abused, how someone chooses to raise their child is no one's business but their own. I'm not that huge of a fan of Britney's music, but I support her as a person, and as a woman. The press was way out of line when it came to her, and "fans" these days are way too fucking nosy.

Back on topic: Chris Brown's behavior is abhorrent, and I will not support a person who thinks it's acceptable to hospitalize women. He is living proof that abuse victims who remain untreated young can grow up to be monsters.
