trying to stay awake for one more hour
won't do you any good, you'll be out.
don't forget to wake up the sun early
your screams'll echo all across the streets
but don't take me down, no, don't take me down.

You'll see that i'll be waiting at the top of that rocket
I'll be that single picture inside your locket.
Have me, wear me over your heart
Trying to open and see me is what's hard.

If it takes too long for you to understand
Just go and ask anyone, because you can
But before going, listen to what I want you to do
Pretend to love me, and I'll pretend with you

If I said I wanted it to be you
What would you say?
If I said I wanted us to be it,
What would you do?
I wished something unexpected,
but for different reasons, I knew
There was only one reason I wanted to feel then
The reason I thought you would too.
I forgot how I remembered,
thought
I could break away from the truth.

I lied to you, I know.
If I didn't would you regret?
You strayed away, it hurt.
but if you didn't, you'd be dead.
Our feelings and our wants didn't matter
No, they didn't, not to them.
I'll get over it, and so I say
Tonight, tonight, no tears will be shed.

Few things:
.:it sounded like a romance poem
.:it's not
.:it seems really horrible to read.
.:it is.
.:i'd still like to know what you guys think though

Jared Joseph Leto.:
Wheeeyy... okay, this is probably the weirdest thing i've ever done, but i'll try it anyway.

Jsyk, my poems aren't at all that great, but i'd appreciate comments and criticisms anyway. =)

Most of the poems i write are usually... short. and... yeah, you'll see =D i'll just... post up as much as i can.

In Blood

My life began with blood.
Screaming, crying, and dark.
I see the light, it makes me scream
so many faces surrounding me.

My life progressed in arms.
Warm, comforting, and careful.
Passed back and forth from breast to chest
Seemingly normal, my life progressed.

My life continued on foot.
Stumbling, crawling, and walking.
The familiar coos fill my ears
This went on for a couple of years.

My life took a turn in school.
Bags, desks, and teachers.
My friends came and went
Not completely sure they were time well spent.

My life somersaulted in college.
Papers, due dates, and professors.
Freedom was soon arriving
in black hats and black gowns, and sashes twisting

My life changed with marriage
Rings, dresses, and promises
His love so true and grand
My character he could withstand.

My life slowed in gray
joints, pains, and memories.
Not-so-little feet running around for me
I wondered how the end would be.

My life was over
Dark, quick, and still
Odd how it closed to a shut
and how it ended in the same way it began,
in blood.

Hey, I just read most of your poems. Just wanted to say a few things...

So, I'll say them. x] Well, wow. I really loved the “My name is Izzy” poem. It gave me goose-bumps and seriously, I almost cried.

And I usually don’t like short poems, but the “Like a kite” one was really good, and makes me wanna try to write a really short one… Kudos on that =]

The “Fate has us round and round” poem… I don’t know. I liked it, but I couldn’t tell you why. Kinda weird… but, eh. I just liked it.

And the “One last chance to keep up” one, I really liked it too. I wish I’d had that poem back in March, it kinda describes a situation I was in.

Those were my favoritests =D You're really good at writing too. Grrawr... yeah, so, just thought I'd tell you that those were awesomazingness.
