Some of my photos could do with some slight editing, but I never bother. ><
Constuctive criticism/comments would be very helpful!
For anyone who's doing/has done a Photography A Level, does it involve learning photoshop skills?
I'm pretty useless with photoshop right now, so I was wondering if we will actually get taight basic techniques. |

photography A level as in the school subject? i'm from sweden, so it might not be the same, but here it involves working with photoshop. i'll be starting the class next term.
edit: two more pictures from the "test session" with my new lens.

if your subject is alone, contained rather than reaching out or whatever, and in the middle of blankness, centering it is probably going to be the only thing that doesn't look really weird.
I agree that her photo is good, and it's fine centered, but there are many photos where it doesn't have to be, and it looks fine.

That girl actually has a lot of interesting self-portraits, both centered and not, active and withdrawn. They can both work well. That being said, Jay, you should consider cropping yours into a square and see how it looks. |

That being said, Jay, you should consider cropping yours into a square and see how it looks. well, that was a generalization. though the photos you put there, the background isn't just blank. in almost every one, there's something done with the background to change the focus or movement or whatever.
also, weird isn't necessarily a bad thing, but yeah. |
