Hello Poetry board! I used to write down frequent ramblings here a long time ago and you were all lovely so I thought I might start posting some new things again.

This is a quick poem that I wrote down when I was achingly sad about being left behind by someone, I think it's a fond farewell, the language and structure mirrors our time together in a way that had me smiling by the time I'd finished it, but if you have any suggestions for improvements let me know Smile It was a very swiftly written one.

you made me do the good real laughs,
the belly laughs,
with hands to belly,
those long last laughs.

you made me do the bursting laughs,
the short breath searching,
crying crouching gasping laughs

you took two hands and shook the knees,
that crumpled under pearls of laughter laughs.

the hard hot spread of summer
came, and laughed at us,
draped its skin across our mouths,
filtered laughter pitched to reach the heavens.

still doubled over,
softy touching skin to skin,
a striding giantess reduced to tumbling joy in summer,
laughed aghast as tall grass fell, underfoot.

you left me in that long grass
the laughter rising up and over fields,
joining dusk's breeze carelessly.

The tune you whistled as you trod that path
of fallen long grass
underfoot, or once.
joined dusks breeze, carefully.

I lay in soil that lost suns warmth and curled
into myself,
my limbs limp as laughter- quietly declined.
