Can you tell me your life story
Cause I really wanna know
How pain tastes mixed with glory
Down at the old rock and roll show
Maybe I’ll play the victim
In some post modern murder play
Maybe I’ll be the hero
When it comes down to judgment day

So say so long yeah, so say good night
You say I’m wrong yeah I say your right
Sometimes it’s just the roll of the dice

Now I’m plucking the petals
From my old six-shooter gun
The color of red hot metals
pierce someone else’ son
I will say a prayer for you
now I’m kneeling at your side
words that seem to cut straight through
the places where you hide

So say so long yeah, so say good night
You say I’m wrong yeah I say your right
Sometimes it’s just the roll of the dice

Hear the sirens fast approaching
Oh such music they do sing
Feel the dark it is encroaching
with the solace it can bring
Now I won’t sing a love song
Cause I don’t know how any go
And don’t you dare say that I was wrong
Or you’ll pay the ferryman’s toll

So say so long yeah, so say good night
You say I’m wrong yeah I say your right
Sometimes it’s just the roll of the dice

Now come on dear old mother
Don’t you get tired of your skin
or is it too much to smother
All those kids that you call kin
So here is my last reprieve
From your sick and twisted ways
I won’t shed a tear I will not grieve
I’ll look on to better days

So say so long yeah, so say good night
You say I’m wrong yeah I say your right
Sometimes it’s just the roll of the dice

this does have a lot more of a song structure than a classical poetry one
the 'yeahs' in the chorus threw me a little bit;
but because they made me try to think of what the tune would be rather than just reading it as a poem.
I liked the idea though. It was a nice opening, especially.
