AHH sorry I posted this in here instead of Poetry, Apologies, very new.

The Third Voice

I am only satisfied if my spectators, shivering and shuddering, raise their hands or cover their eyes out of fear of ghosts and devils dashing towards them.

God whispers these words, the devil stole them and let them be heard.

I hung myself from heaven, and my feet touched the tips of hell
I remember when Dad sang that if you threw your soul in it was like a wishing well
But he told me I had nothing to sell, so in purgatory I dwell.
Stuck between heaven and hell, unsure where to put myself.
Now I’m stuck here, I try to at least reach for the kingdom of love.
But you know everything I’m capable of, you tasted it in my blood.
You say ‘There is nothing below, there is nothing above.
Let's throw our crowns underneath buses and fuck our kingdom away.’
Maybe this is love, and love is all you need.

Sometimes I scream. And it helps me keep a healthy heartbeat.
And then I hear angels above, and a shaking underneath.
When I scream, heaven and hell try to speak.

Sometimes, at night I try to coax them out from wherever they hide.
The little cracks in my plastic mind.
Or the corporation shadows forged from dead light.

We’re all becoming a product of the afterlife and drug’s we take
And a world that God must hate.
Now the television just focuses on the clouds and the celebrities we couldn’t care less about.
We sit and watch as they break the message we tried so hard to make.
Then he spoke softly these words – Hell is empty and all the devils are here.
And then I realised.
Cover your eyes for the fear.
Hell is empty and all the devils are here.
Raise your hands to the sky and shout
We are calling heaven out.
But sometimes I think we’re stuck here.
In this shallow pit of guilt and fear.
The ghosts are drawing near.
We lost heaven to that wishing well and now hell is empty, and the devils are here.
