This is a free verse poem I did for a creative writing class, let me know what you think.
Months pass by
And the sky turns from gray to blue
With every passing day,
I let myself become more numb.
I lock my troubles in the back of my mind
And throw away the key.
Still, it seeps out
Screaming its presence in my ears.
But how could I tell you
When you're not even listening?
You think if you play the notes, I'll just sing along.
It's never been that simple.
And now, nothing you can say
Will make me back down.
So tell me it's sunny-
When I can see the storm coming.
Convince me its silent-
When I can't even hear my own thoughts.
And convince me I can't do this myself
When it's you who won't let go.
