From wikipedia:
Black Veil Brides is an American rock band formed in 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The group is composed of Andrew Biersack ("Andy Six"Wink (vocals), Ashley Purdy (bass, backing vocals), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), Jeremy Ferguson (guitar, violin) and Christian Coma (drums). Currently signed to the label StandBy Records, the band's debut album, We Stitch These Wounds was released in July 2010 and sold nearly 11,000 copies in its first week, ranking at #36 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and #1 on the Billboard Independent chart. Black Veil Brides are known for their distinct appearance, mainly being inspired by Kiss's infamous stage persona as well as numerous 1980s glam acts

I really like them. I was reading someone's profile on vampirefreaks.com and among the favourite music i read the name BVB. It caught my eye for some reason. From the name I concluded it could be doom metal, something similar to Anathema. It turned out it wasn't. I saw the video Knives and Pens and the song was far away from my taste but I watched the whole video because I thought little Andy was a cutie. I was surprised to notice this mature and cold metal sound their songs have. Maybe I'm wrong but I hear a Children of Bodom influence in there.

I didn't mind them, but then I saw them live supporting Murderdolls, and they just seemed really... innapropriately cocky about it:
their merch table was selling t-shirts saying "We Stitch The UK tour '10", almost ignoring the fact that it was Murderdolls' "God Save The Scream" tour, this annoyed me a little bit, but then when it came to their set, the roadies got these two mic stands and hung this tiny little piece of black cloth over the stage, before whipping ti down when they came out to play, alot of bands do this i know (MCR included) but it just looked really feeble and pathetic.
but the thing that really got me was that they weren't actually (musically) very good live, andy was too busy running round the stage and trying to be a showman, when he was getting really out of breath and delivering not a very good performance :/
but what kind of clinched my irritation with them though, was the little group of 14-15 years olds behind me on the balcony, who just appeared out of nowhere after the 1st band, who were saying all this stuff like "they really represent us, they speak to me" and "no-one out there is doing what they're doing", which is fair play, I think certain bands speak to things I've felt, but it annoyed me that they were just disregarding everything else that had led up to BVB existing. these kids had dyed black hair and skinny jeans on etc. (as did I Wink so I'm not dissing that!) so they must have been into alternative music before Black Veil Brides, but they were just completely ignoring this!

ahh sorry, I'm ranting! my point is, I'm not against them for the image, I think every band in some way has an image. it irritates me that they're being held up as this brilliantly talented band doing fresh original things, when they're actually not that progressive or impressive on record or live. I think there are a lot more decent bands out there who deserve the credit and acclaim that Black Veil Brides are enjoying
If people like them, then I'm totally cool with that, I'm mindful that this is just my personal opinion, I just wanted to put this out here - a forum is for discussion after all!

Love them! I know some people say they aren't original and stuff like that but they have songs that help me especially Knives and Pens, Saviour, and Fallen Angels. I only know four people who actually like them and know more than two songs.
