Most Overrated Bands?

MyNameIsLindz Killjoy Age: 34 Gender: - Posts: 6	January 2nd, 2012 at 02:51pm So, I read Kerrang a lot, have done for the last 6 years or so, but I've found in the past that once I've actually listened to some of the bands that they've ranted and raved about; I'm somewhat underwhelmed. How about you guys? Do you guys have bands that you think are majorly over-hyped? Personally, for me it's Paramore...

As far as the phrase "I'm sexy and I know it" goes; they all need to take a look in the mirror, cuz they're all a bunch of horrors!! I'm prefering Florence and the Machine a wee bit more lately; their new stuff is very melodic and easy to listen to. And BVB, that's one band Kerrang has raved endlessly about but I certainly don't see the acctraction; and their image is only going to open up their fans to abuse, in my opinion. Many of the bands of that style are extremely overrated: My Passion and Falling In Reverse are further examples. And yet, there are so many bands and artists out there that are severely underrated, and several more that have never been able to make a name for themselves, cuz they can't get the media exposure that they so desperately need. sigh

I wouldn't say FIR is more overrated than ETF is. FIR is only overrated because all of Ronnie's fans flocked to FIR over ETF. Personally, I haven't heard much about FIR since they first released the CD. Black Veil Brides takes the cake, imo. Their domination of the AP Reader's Poll made me cringe in horror.

There are soooo many other bands out there that sound just like them. And personally, I'm just not interested in hearing about 50 million different girls who broke his heart. Boring. edit: Dunno if you just meant only Kerrang. I've pretty much given up on music mags for now, so I don't really know what/who's in them.

Oh and.. take in count that I didn't said they're bad either Yeah, everyone has the right to an opinion. As long as you aren't denying the musical influence they have had over a lot of the musicians you listen to today! haha. I personally like a few songs and I have a ton of respect, but I'm not their biggest fan by any means. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Was interesting to hear your opinion though. Ps. I hate music snobs too.
