i'd call cps in a heartbeat if i knew they wouldn't be fucking useless and put my nieces in a potentially worse situation
i was writing a huge thing about what's going on but the point is my sister is totally unfit to have these girls
we have willow here, but we can't get nina because she's so young and so dependent on her still
and i'm really worried about her mental development being around my sister |

i've tried to look into it, but all across the country cps is a joke, and there's no guarantee they would take the girls away since they aren't (as far as we know) physically abused
and no, i don't think our dad would take them in, and we kind of don't want him to
in dealing with tantrums and general toddler stuff, he generally starts at a 10 with discipline, whereas we prefer to gradually increase in tone, if that makes sense
he starts off strict right away, and it tends to scare willow, and she doesn't need that |

so maybe you just gotta keep doing what you're doing, and hope that your sister gets her shit together one day, at least a little bit
in the meantime, and even if she never does, the fact that you're in your nieces' lives is already and will be majorly beneficial for them, i think they'll be okay as long as you're there for them, it seems you're like the only stable thing in their lives atm so it's really good that they have that |

i don't fucking know
with willow she was still with his father, so she had the expectation that he would be there
she's been broken up with him since she was like, 2 months pregnant with maggie and now he's in prison again
we have no idea why she decided to get pregnant again, considering all the shit we already had to deal with |

so maybe you just gotta keep doing what you're doing, and hope that your sister gets her shit together one day, at least a little bit

the only issue with me is that i often get talked over
boundaries i try to set get stomped all over by my mother so willow doesn't listen to me as much
it's not as bad as it used to be but it's quite frustrating |
