Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 243 | February 6th, 2006 at 10:05pm It's the song that turned made me a fan for life. That album had already touched so much in me, that I didn't think it could have anymore, then that last track just cemented it. I'll admit it. I cried. I haven't since, I think it was just sort of a catharsis. The songs hit so close to home and that one just sent me over edge. It's beautiful. And it will remain one of my favorite songs. I wish they'd play it more though, I think they've performed it once before 'revenge' and then haven't since. Makes me sad, I think a lot of their newer fans would get a lot out of it. |

It's hilarious when my friends and I are drinking on weekends and I chuck MCR on the stereo... when it gets to the opening riff I always get out of my chair and start rocking out... and when it breaks down I'm suddenly lying on the ground, clutching a bottle and crying, 'I'm trying, I'm trying to let you know how much you mean...' etc... and my friends are all either lying on the floor with me and we're having hugs, or they're sitting at the table playing cards or whatever and going, 'You'll be right, dude'...
Gerard may love that he came up with 'How wrong we were to think that immortality meant never dying', but I honestly believe that 'Demolition Lovers' is just pure, unadulterated genius. It's the perfect song in so many ways. |
