just a matter of opinion? sometimes when bands go to mainstream they get overplayed and the idea of the band overtakes the music...but then again it would be so great for the guys...everyone has always dreamed of being famous... |

Also if they hadn't gone mainstream I'd probably never have got to know them at all.
But I honestly don't think they're as mainstream as some bands just now I.E. Green Day are... I mean you get a whole load of kids saying "I love Helena!" and all that same as you get kids going "I love Boulevard of Broken Dreams!" but I don't think the MCR situation is as bad as the GD situation. I mean the proportion of MCR fans/teenies to MCR haters ... well, let's just say there are way more haters than lovers.
That was a pointless ramble wasn't it now? |

Agrees with emily. Everywhere you go there's kids saying "Hey do you know the song boulevard of broken dreams? OMG! I love that song! I walk this lonely road on the boulevard of broken dreams don't know where it goes but.... uh.... but"
Down with all the MCR haters! |

yeah, i second that, IF they go into the mainstream, they can held more gig, better equipment, better backup, and those sorts of things, but the bad side is dozens and dozens of teenies will appear, *through, they got crazy teenies now, but not much*,,, i thinK we'll just go throught it, i will still support the Band if they stay still their stand, well let's wait and see |

I have never heard them on the radio, seen them on them stupid pop music programmes and seen them in pop magazine (like green day...now thats mainstream for you) thats what i like about them |

I've NEVER heard them on the radio either. Like about 4 months ago their videos basically never got played in Canada but everytime you'd go to a cd store it would always be on the best seller chart. |

i think really they won't be played on pop channels much, because they have lyrics that aren't really for pop music... yeah sure they sing love songs, but they're love songs about killing yourself for love etc, and a lot of their music is kind of about suicide and death and the lyrics are pretty deep... and people that only listen to pop expect the same thing to be repeated again and again in songs... well anyway... i dont think that if alot of the teenies listened to their older things, or based it all on their older things, that they would listen to them.
now i probably made no sense wsfe |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 915 | August 21st, 2005 at 06:06am I think it is kinda bad..but its not as bad as Green Day...which is good....b/c i feel bad for Green Day..like ppl go to their shows just b/c ther got the American Idiot cd...and they never heard a single song from their earlier albums....if it starts getting like that after MCR releases their next cd that could be bad...like that happened to SOAD so they took a year off touring so all that would die down a little bit...and it worked...but i would cry if MCR took a year off. |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 12 | August 21st, 2005 at 04:57am They're not that mainstream...yet. But the teenie fanbase is definatley growing at an uncontrollable rate. But I guess, you get that with most bands that get popular. That's the only bad thing about them getting more mainstream. Other than that, good for them. They deserve the attention. |
