OMFG ALEX WAS INCREDIBLE.
He got us all to do the wave like 3 times and then at the end he went off into the crowd [in a HUGE amphitheater] and sang from the middle.
They were more exciting than seeing the headliner.
I would totally go see them again even though they aren't my favorite band.
I finally saw them on Friday!
Here's how the set went:
First, they played Geronimo, which was, of course, amazing.
Second they played Always On My Mind, which I didn't expect, but it was so awesome. :D
Alex introduced the band by saying that they were from Germany, lulz.
Then he was all, "My name's Alex, what's your name?" Everyone yelled their names at once, which he seemed to enjoy. He was all, "Your name is skjeiostfjlksdfjalfj?" lmao.
Then they played Dropped, and Alex felt inclined to take his jacket off. D:
His arms are amazing. Let's just leave it at that. I think I died a little.
Then they played Do The Panic, which was great. Keep in mind that through the entire set, Alex kept making jokes and being all cute and funny. :]
Big Brat was next, and Paper Route joined them for it. and Alex told us to all have a dance party. When not everyone participated, he told us he's have to teach us how and jumped into the crowd. Unfortunately, I was no where near the front, and he didn't jump on my face. D: But it was probably the best song of the set.
Finally, they played California. So many people were singing along, it was awesome. Alex thanked us like, 4 times and said he wanted to sing karaoke with us. :D
SO IN SHORT, IT WAS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. :DDDD
....but I didn't get to meet them. D:
I went by their merch tent a million times and they were never there. [even though they said they would be.]
I have no idea whether or not they played in the parking lot that night, either.
I didn't see them, though. And my mom was in a hurry to leave.
But if they post acoustic in Philadelphia videos, I'll cry. D:
JESUS.
Other than Paramore, Phantom was my favorite set.
They were AMAZING.
"Hello Providence! We are Phantom Planet from Tokyo Japan!"
And then this girl screamed for Alex to take his shirt off and he was like, "Uh, no way. You take your shirt off! Plus, i don't have much to take off. Have you seen what I'm wearing?"
this is an odd request
is there a live version of "big brat" floating around?
because i tried to discribe how much cooler it sounds live to someone, and i couldn't
I saw them last night, and they were awesome. <3
Everyone in the audience sang happy birthday to Darren, and then the Phantom Planet guys threw cake at each other. xD
