How do you mean? Usually the questions end up being asked in their respective threads, don't they?

I think she means if you want to ask questions about certain artists, art-related websites, different materials and mediums, or any stuff like that could be asked here,
I think.

Yeah, I cleared this with a couple moderators, they said it was fine.

This being cleared, I have an art question.
I'm doing a piece for an art show right now,
and I have it styled the normal way I do things, I have a certain style to my pieces,
but anyway, I have pieces that I want to color in solid, like completely black.
Normally I do this with my black pen, but then you end up being able to see the scratch lines in the pattern I colored it in, or it makes the page bubble and fold up a bit.
How can I achieve something similar while avoiding this?
I've considered the idea of a sharpie or black marker, but I really hate the look it has.

I'd go buy a bottle of India Ink and a paintbrush. :]

I've tried that method as well.
Unless I do it very thickly and in small spots, it ends up turning gray and looking like watercolor.

What kind of ink are you using? If it's too cheap, the quality won't be as good. The kind of paper also effects it, what kind of paper are you using?

In a different direction, could you use a stencil and spray-paint?

It's this bottle of Indian ink, uhm... "Speedball calligraphy ink",
and the paper is just this thin, white sketchbook paper. I don't know what "kind" of paper it is.
I know very little about art supplies.

Spraypaint might look good,
but I've got some really thin details I want to get colored, and I think spray paint is too risky.

Try using thicker paper, I'd recommend bristol board. It's more suitable for inks.

Quick question.
How are you supposed to open tubes of paint without ruining something?
The kind I have is essentially airtight and last time I tried to open one of the watercolors, it basically exploded all over my carpet and left a huge red stain.

poke a pin through the foil stuff but don't squeeze the tube.^
if that's what you mean. xD

Thanks

ever since i re-installed photoshop on my computer i have been having some problems. i have CS2.
when i add a new layer, or texture, or image, even with fonts, i can't change the size or rotate it.
i used to be able to select a layer and be to manipulate it.
idk if can explain it any better, but if you do get what i mean, how can i fix this?

also, should this thread be made a sticky?
i think it would be lovely if that was possible. <3

to be honest. I don.t think we need this thread. You can ask that question in the photoshop thread. :-/
