I have been a fan of MCR for 1 year already!(wuhooo). I think, i've told you about me being a late fan...but, i've seen lots and lots of changes.... feel free to lock this...but, i've searched do you miss their past? |
made from neon Salute You in Your Grave Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 2036 | Well, they grew up, haha. I joined the fan-ness three or so years ago and since then I've done my research, xD They went from these kids who could play music and went on two week tours, to these men who - four of five, anyhow, but Bob has a girlfriend - are married, and Gerard's got a baby on the way, and their music has evolved in so many ways, and it's gone through stages, and it's always been great. Change is good for the boys of My Chem. xD |

believing. Salute You in Your Grave Age: 30 Gender: Male Posts: 2318 | Well, when they jumped from Bullets to Three Cheers, the music styles switched to punk-rock, and they were a little more uniform, with the bullet-proof vest and the make-up. But, I agree. Change is good. Over the years, they've written great music, and great songs, and now that they're older and more mature than before, they're doing even better than before. |

brandleys; Death Defying Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 186345 | I think they've changed a lot, but nothing bad really. I think the members just grew up a bit and matured. Their music has changed a lot too, which usually happens with bands whose inspiration comes from somewhere different- like how Bullets and Revenge were mainly from comic books, and yet Parade was from classic rock bands. It also happens with what's going on in your life at that moment, and with each album it's something differrent, which will effect its lyrics and music. They have grown happier as well, because they say in a few interviews that when they started the band they thought everything was terrible, and yet as they grew they learned that it's not so bad after all. They've all married [except for Bob] as well, and one has a kid on the way which he says he's very happy/excited about, so they have grown and found happiness over time. I don't think the reason they changed has anything to do with fame, mainly because they don't act like they're obsessed with their sucess and the money they make. They still act like normal people. I think all the change is good, it's nothing bad and nothing that would make me stop listening to them. |
Muerte Poetica Jazz Hands Age: 26 Gender: Female Posts: 326 | They sure have changed, and sometimes, i do wish we were back in the early days of bullets because when I became a fan the black parade just came out and it feels like i missed a load. But if it was still back then 1)We wouldnt have bob 2) gerard would still be drunk on stage, so in most ways change is good. |
Criminal.Poet Thinking Happy Thoughts Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 491 | I agree with everything before me; Yes, they changed. You can listen to each album and there is some differences. But the amazing thing about them is that they are still true to themselves. They aren't in this for the fame or the money. They grew up a little, they experimented with different music styles. But they still care about the music and the fans just like they did six years ago. [: |
Xmusic_monsterX Jazz Hands Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 303 | i think when they started out, they were all a little more angry at the world.. this showed in their music. but now they aren't as angry. they have all matured. and their music has matured with them. all bands go through these phases. in MCR's case, i think the change is good. don't get me wrong, i love the Bullets album and the Revenge album, but i am really looking forward to hearing their new music now that they are married and matured and all of that good stuff. MCR will still be the best in my eyes though, no matter what!! |
yousawnothing Jazz Hands Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 308 | Ditto. I haven't been a fan as long as most, but I really think all the changes are positive. They sound more together in a way, and it's good they've come through everything and still stuck together as a band and as friends; take the Paramour as example. And they're still working on music, even though they're married or expecting or everything else. I think they still care about the fans just as much as they did in the beginning; maybe more since they know what they mean to us. |
Xmusic_monsterX Jazz Hands Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 303 | i have only been a fan for like a year, so don't feel bad but i really think that the growth and new-found maturity in their music is really good |
fabulous killjoy. Moderator Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 46256 | They changed because they grew up. End of. |
pxieVAMPIREdust Bleeding on the Floor Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 1136 | ^i agree! *high five* |
bellamurte Killjoy Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 45 | I've been a fan nearly six years eeek! I've seen all their changes, I can't say I think it's bad. I heard some Black Parade fans moaning because they don't dress in their uniform anymore and they don't talk about suicide. Gerard didn't stick around at a signing of The Umbrella Academy and a few other things. The Black Parade is [b]Dead![/i] hence forth, no more uniforms. They do still talk about suicide, but...we'll I can't get into to much because it's hitting on personal lives, but we all know that their are lots of postive wonderful things going on in their lives right now, I think suicide is far from their minds. And to be fair, if I was Gee, after seven years on the road and about to become a daddy, I'd be tired to, and all I 'd wanna do is go home and cuddle up with my gourgous wife. The only major changes have been because they've grown up, nothing more, nothing less. |
Angie Pansy Thinking Happy Thoughts Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 408 | I've been a fan for about 5 years and they have changed ever since the first time I heard "Vampires". But, that's what happens. Bands evolve and change, just like we do. I'm sure that if they've stayed the same since Bullets, we'd all be pretty bored with them. There's nothing wrong with a little variety. They grew up. It happens. It can be a good thing. =] |
pxieVAMPIREdust Bleeding on the Floor Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 1136 | i agree to all of you...they did mature from the Bullets and now to the present...they've got lots of learnings...that's why....^^ |
I'm A Bullet.I Kill! Jazz Hands Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 350 | i have been a fan for one year and one month XD anyways, from what i have read (researches, duh) that my chem was once a messy band cuz of stuff like gerard used to get drunk all the time and tons of sutff like that, so obviously they have changed a lot. First, of course during bullets, they were kinda inexperienced since they were still new, and matt was still the drummer. and then when they moved on to revenge everything seemed to build up automatically, their sound changed from post-hardcorish to more punk-rockish. then gerard got sober and they found a new drummer, and then that's when (in my opinion) the real my chem was born. and as some of you have said, they probably got the inspiration from comics for bullets and revenge. from young adults to adults. ah we watch them grow XD and they becoming famous is a good thing too, or else i wouldn't have found out about them and i might not make it till today. no they did not save my life, but they certainly helped me in a lot of things in life. |
