i believe that through all of the things and concepts that already exist in our world and in our universe, they are the future. now; everything that's in it's place, every situation that happening now is yet to collide with eachother. every piece of matter in it's place and situation already sets the stage for what will happen in the future. you you just know all of the info about everyone and everything in the universe and you had a very intelligent methimatical mind, there would probably be some formula to figure out some future events.

you cn chose your destiny to a certain extent, but the conditions all around you in the worl dictate most of what happens, and everything around us happens becasue of causes and event, and causes of those causes. These outside factors can even infuence how you are completley, and your goals and values in life, SO all of it is beyond our control. It's all in the mathematical make up of everything around us.

I think fate sets us a path, we then use our free will to decide whether to follow it or not.

free will is the crunchy leaf on the sidewalk of fate. some of us will walk right past it, some of us will veer from our path to step on it, others will walk past it then walk right back towards it, only to find it already crunched.

Huh, we actually just talked about this in my Physics class. Most of the class believed in total or almost total free will.

I think someone said something sort of like this earlier, but I believe that we make our own choices, but that there are some things that happen we don't have control over, not because they're destined to happen, but because they're products of someone else exercising his or her own free will.

Well I think its based on what your perspective is- if you believe that if you're in control of your life, then you probably exercise free will. If you beleive in luck and fate, then you might not have very much free will since blame everything on outside forces.

Personally I think its a little bit of both- you can make your own decisions, but then there are also things that happen by chance or things that you can't control that happen.
