The only thing that's disappointing about this song is the drums. They seem REALLY messy and erratic. Bob was all about precision and he was what made MCR a tight band...I think it would be way better with Bob on drums for those songs.
At least because "The Only Hope for Me Is You" and "Save Yourself, I'll Hold THem Back" are on the album that means Bob will be playing drums on those songs because they're from the old album.
But really, whoever their session drummer was sucks. The drums make "Na Na Na" sound like a big sloppy mess.

Yes and the messiness is what makes MCR MCR. They're not a spotless, immaculate, perfect band, and i don't think they were that horrifically messy in the first place.

but what do i know, i'm no drummer am i.
Well, the reason Matt was allegedly kicked out in addition to being distant from the band was that he kept messing up, was sloppy, and couldn't play to a click track/keep time as well as they wanted.
In LOTMS they talked about how tight Bob made the band and how "this was how it should have been all along."
MCR doesn't have to be perfect all the time and I wasn't even implying that at all. But, as a drummer the drumming from their previous albums compared to The Black Parade is way different. In "Our Lady of Sorrows" Pelissier actually gets off-beat when they go into the chorus. If you don't trust me try keeping time and listening to it.
You can have erratic drumming if it's done correctly and with precision. Compared to other songs, "Na Na Na" isn't precise and is kind of sloppy drumming-wise. You can argue that drumming shouldn't always be precise, but it really should because the drummer is what's holding the band together. The mix is pretty bad too so that's part of it.
No one should get upset because the drums aren't great. It doesn't mean MCR isn't a good band and it's not me insulting the song so no one has to take offense (it seems like a few people are) but compared to The Black Parade the drumming isn't up to par and I'm not the only drummer who thinks that.
haha, that's awesome.
i wonder how many times gerard started laughing while trying to sing all those words.
someone should ask them about this song in an interview.
