Remember me (x6)

Where, where will you stand?
When all the lights go out
Across these city streets
Where were you when
All of the embers fell
I still remember them
Covered in ash, covered in glass
Covered in all my friends
I still think of the bombs they build

If there's a place that I could be
Then I'd be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you
Because you're the only hope for me
And if we can't find where we belong
We'll have to make it on our own
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me
Is you alone

How it should be
Many years after the disasters that we've seen
What have we learned?
Other than people burn in purifying flame
Say it's okay
I know you can tell
Though you can see my smile
I still think of the guns they sell

If there's a place that I could be
Then I'd be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you
Because you're the only hope for me
And if we can't find where we belong
We'll have to make it on our own
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me
Is you alone

The only hope for me
The only hope for me
Is you, the only hope for me
Is you, the only hope for me
Is you, the only hope for me
Is you, the only hope

If there's a place that I could be
Then I'd be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you
Because you're the only hope for me
And if we can't find where we belong
We'll have to make it on our own
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me
Is you alone

The only hope for me is you (xCool

this song sounds like it is about the world trade centre when the 'twin towers' both got knocked down beacuse of the mentioning of ash and bombs and glass and embers falling and its like a metaphor, even through disastors i will be there for you but actually can i be there for you ? will you let me? coz your the only hope for me to survive like without you i wouldnt be here

I think this is about the twin towers because that is how MCR originally formed.

it reminds me of stuff like the twin towers and the holocust kinda. its like about people who go through hard times and stuff and try to forget them?
I am rubbish at interpreting just thought i would give it a go, so yeah.

I think it's about the 9/11. It's kinda like Skylines and Turnstiles, but, less dark, I guess you could say.

gerard said in an interview that this song was about Lyn-z. The one about Bandit never made it on the album.

I think it's about 9/11 :
Where, where will you stand?
When all the lights go out
Across these city streets
Where were you when
All of the embers fell
I still remember them
Covered in ash, covered in glass
Covered in all my friends
I still think of the bombs they build

That ^^ Is enough to make you think it's about 9/11

I think it has many meanings to it because the first one can be the twin towers which makes sense because that's the reason MCR started or it can mean that it's about saving someone from something but it doesn't have to be of family it can be about his fans.In the part where it says"and if we can't find where we belong we'll have to make it on our own face all the pain and take it on because the only hope for me is you alone" can also be part of one of the meanings because to me it means face the pain if you've got nothing left but your not alone so you've got to strong for it. I believe that the first verse is about the horrible things that Gerard has been through, and he wishes that he could have had something (or someone) to make it easier ("where were you when all of the embers fell" ). It could be talking about his family, his fans, or even music as an outlet.
The second verse may be implying that, even though he has been through a lot, he still is depressed at times. Even though he isn't suicidal, and even though he says everything's okay, he's saying that he still needs to fight his own personal battles.
The chorus is saying that, yes, there are awful things in life, but that we should focus on the good ("the only hope for me is you" ) and we should deal with the bad things ("face all the pain and take it on" ).
I'm probably totally wrong about all this, but whatever.

Okay well before reading this i thought it was about someone gonna commit suicide but kept on going no matter how hard it is because of this one girl he loves.
The first verse is about how he's had a hard life remembering all of his friends dead like the light's going out are lives and i think it could relate to 9/11 about the embers and ash and glass and how it's hard having to live through that and remember it all the time.

'Where will we stand?
When all the lights go out
Across these city streets
Where were you when
All of the embers fell
I still remember there
Covered in ash
Covered in glass
Covered in all my friends
I still
Think of the bombs they built'

The chorus is about the girl he loves, that the only hope of him regaining strength to carry on is her and the first two lines of the chorus meaning he'd be a memory, like dead and he'd only be a memory when he's gone and The bit about finding where we belong is about him believing the destiny of them both is to be together but all the hardships and time before that, the 'pain' he'd just have to face it until destiny comes.

'If there's a place that I could be,
Then I’d be another memory
Can I be the only hope for you?
Because you’re the only hope for me
And if we can find where we belong,
We’ll have to make it on our own.
Face all the pain and take it on
Because the only hope for me is you
Alone'

The second verse is like the first one, remembering the worst times, like you life flashing before your eyes when you're about to die (or in this case commit) and now they're friends or in the same vicinity and though he puts on a smile he thinks of the bad things of his past.

'How would you be
Many as after the disaster that we’ve seen
What we have learned
Of all the people burning
In purifying flame
I say it’s okay
I know you can tell
And though you can see me smile
I still
Think of the guns they sell'

When he repeatedly says 'The Only Hope For Me Is You' he's deciding to kill himself but tries to pull back reminding himself of the girl and then the 'Remember Me' bit would be once he's committed that the girl should remember him because he won't be around much longer.

That's my idea to it all.
