I would really like to learn French but I'm not familiar with the language at all.I only know a few basic words and how to ask for a pastry.
I was wondering if anyone here could give me some tips and advice for learning French and suggest some books, cds, dvd, stuff like that.
(I'm sorry if it's against the rules to post this here,I didn't know where else to put it) |

I would suggest signing up for a class, perhaps at your school, if it is offered there. Or perhaps teach yourself. I would definately recommend buying a French-English dictionary. Feel free to message me with any help you need. Maybe we can help eachother with it. |

you could also take a class somewhere like a community college
other than that, i'd suggest buying a french textbook online and teaching yourself with that. this is a really good one
you can also use their online activities for free [url=http://www.classzone.com/french.cfm]on their website[url]
usually workbooks are cheaper than textbooks, and you could probably find a workbook for Discovering French Bleu somewhere.
you can also watch News France online. it's really useful to get used to the sound of the language so you can get pronunciation right. you may not understand what they're saying (i've been taking french for almost 7 years and i dont always understand what they're talking about), but it'll get you used to the sound. |
