Teenies are mostly teenagers who only like a band because they are "hot" and are the in thing, not because they like there music and what there purpose is or anything like that.

I know. Even the biggest haters at my school have started to like them, because, you know, I rant 24/7. But... I love the guys in My Chem, not just their music.

The "teenies" you refer to - there are different groups of those, no? Some are just young people that love the band and others are psycho fans who turn up at Bob's mother's restaurant and request her so they can gawk unabashedly at her, or drive to NJ and just stand outside of Mike and Gee's house staring at it. This could be why that security guard was hired. It's freaking the guys out, and I have proof:

I totally agree with everything you said. Surprised All my friend ever says is,
'Gerard is so hot.'
or
'He has such a cute laugh.'

She doesn't even know how bad he was before he quit and got so much stronger... That's why I love him. ♥

BeautifulxRomance:
^I'd say consider yourself lucky. The only people I know who like MCR are you guys. No one here seems to be into them. In fact, quite the opposite. I get funny looks when I wear an MCR t-shirt, and definitely get laughed at. I know MCR has gotten huge everywhere, and sometimes it does seem like they've been forced to sell out, but that hasn't hit my area yet.

its the same with me
only you guys, and a few IMDBers share my love with mcr
no1 in my area does.
it SUCKS
i get funny looks all the time when i wear my shirt Sad i get yelled at

Well, weren't you guys sort of expecting this when TBP was released? I mean, when I first heard the album, i thought "their gonna get so huge cuz of this" and they did. And I definately understand how you guys are afraid of the band losing touch with the fans, but, come on, do you really honestly think that would happen? It's like saying, "I'm afraid the sky's gonna turn red". I really don't think we have anything to worry about. Okay for any of you Green Day fans here, It's sort of the same situation. Look what happened when American Idiot was released. And they are still true to their fans. MCR are still our unpopular little geeks from Jersey. (because its been said here that alot of ppl don't like them too.) MCR are getting more famous its a given. And there should be room for more fans.

Okay I am done. Mr. Green

I'll admit that i only heard of MCR from the Black Parade Album, but from then i bought their last albums and listened to all their other music they had released, and really realised how much i liked this band.

I am a new fan, but a very true and dedicated fan and agree that they may be getting much bigger than anyone wanted them too, but without their sucess (sp?) i doubt i would of ever heard of them.

I see how it's effecting the fans and i also wish i could just walk up to them and have a descent conversation with them without bein swamped by screaming people, but also congratulate them on their huge acheivement..and understand that it's not always about what we want..

Sorry if that sounds like a bit of a rant, i just thought i'd throw my bit in there! Smile
P.S > Sorry if that doesnt make as much sense as i hoped it did... i know it sounded right in my head though! Lol.

Embarassed don't kill me, but somehow i agree that superstardom would distance them from their fans. I love the guys, I really do, there's just so much respect that I have for them. But I feel that if they get... too famous, then they lose touch with their fans. I feel horrible saying this cuz i know Gerard and gang wouldn't want that to happen, but i feel that that's the scenario should they get too famous. Even if they don't let superstardom get to their heads (and I believe they won't), their managers/ guards will create a barrier of sorts. It's inevitable, I know, and I'm really happy that they got huge. But I guess we're allowed to feel this small sense of... bittersweet sadness at the prospect of them losing touch with their fans. Y/N?
So true. Its like they have gotten so big and they have so many fans they have kinda forgotten about how things used to be, when you could just go up to them and ask them to sign something, they wouldn't really be bothered by it. (so I'm told by many people)
But now they have heaps of security, it seems like they don't have as much time.
Security is good cause it keeps them safe but I think they should try be like how it used to be.
I'm so glad they are huge but I think they need to connect with fans a bit more.

I agree with that too, but their so busy will loads of stuff that the fans arent always the ones to be first on their list..
They've been held up creating 'The Black Parade', and then touring around the globe.. Im sure they just need to settle down for a little while and spend time with their families and such.. They've gone through alot this past year and their doing brilliant.

Just give them some time, i dont think they will loose touch with their fans, they'll probally just be stepping back for a while.

Being famous = crazy stalker-fans and paparazzi = bodyguards. I mean, if you were in their shoes, what would you do? I know I would run away like a pansy. (lol) As long as they don't go buying three mansions each, then I think they'll still be fine. I only got into them from TBP, too, but I got all their other music and fell in love. I'm kind of sad that I missed the accessibility, too, but that's what I get for being lazy and waiting for bands to play on the radio. (lol)

I started liking MCR in December 2006. I first heard WTTBP and I loved it. I bought the album and I loved everything about them. Over the past 6 months I've tried to get everything about them and i'm sad that I missed the stage when they were accessible.

So I'm kinda new but I know that I love them just as much as fans from 2002.

I think it's sad that I found them so late when they became more popular because now I can't enjoy the same level of close-ness if you know what I mean.

But I love them all the same!
