ILuvMCRandYotas:MCR live has definiteley spoiled me. They're the most amazing band live.....ever. Which means, every other time I go to a show, it will be 2nd best at the very best.
Heh .....it's crazy, isn't it? Coz when u watch the concert again the nxt day (on YouTube or somesuch), u realise that on a physical level it's nothing very fantastic. hardly any sparks or she-bang, just five dudes performing their hearts out on stage ...and yet, and yet it's so electric. their music is so phenomenal, it's good enough with just them and the guitars & drums & nothing else.

in this day and age where mainstream music has become sadly devoid of intelligent lyrics, thank god for a band that keeps songwriting standards alive |

My own shudders at having tried to go that route himself, although he's firmly clinging on to Eminem and Tupac still (even though we don't actually own any Tupac, but still, he likes the IDEA of him LOL) 
What's wild is that the kiddo and I frequently play the "Top musicians ever list" game, and none of the boys in MCR ever make top tier, yet they're still my top band LMAO Someone mentioned Avenged Sevenfold before - we really like them. Talent-wise, they always score higher on our list and we are always stoked when they come to town, but a friend of mine bumped MCR off her number one band spot in place of them and I just didn't get why she did that!
Conclusion: there ARE better musicians out there, but not better bands. |

(Ooh, next door have just started band practice, a fact my mother detests, but I find it quite interesting. The drummer's pretty good.)

i can (and do) listen to other bands, but not to just normal radio stations after putting on some MCR. the worst part of listening to a CD of theirs is possibly the silence that comes after, bcoz i can't turn on the radio for at least 20 mins after that. why? coz the chart-topping hits i hear just (as a lot of u hv said) pale in comparison.
occasionally i replay my entire MCR compilation when i reach the end just bcoz of that...bcoz its preferable to turning on the radio & hearing crap  i need to start making compilations of other fave artistes dammit
no insult to any specific musician/band. i mean i dont blame radio stations, they hv to make money the best way possible, right.
though if i hear that jordin sparks tattoo song one more time, i just might spontaneously combust. |

Some are an acception to rule, because they actually have something good in their lyrics, but I can't listen to radio stations much anymore (they don't play MCR, heh). |
