What do you think they've created or destroyed?
Do you think the creation of the universe had anything to do with them?
Do you think that the end of the universe will have anything to do with them?
Do you think of them to harmless for the moment?

okk. serious, based on what i know, (im not sure tho) every star, when they reach their end, like they're billions of years, they turn into a blackhole..it's a death of a star. the end of the universe dont have anything to do with white and blackholes. for now yea, they're harmless but as time goes they won't be. |

The death of a star.
I don't think there's anything inside them. Maybe there's something on the otherside though, we just can't get threw one to figure it out.

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 3503 | May 26th, 2008 at 09:05am i know if you fell into a black hole (besides dying, lol) you'd be stretched, and would continue to be stretched til you come to the end of the black hole (or whatever it is).
black holes are harmful. i mean, they can pull matter into them and easily destroy it, but i dont think any black holes are harmful to us at this point in time. (and as that wikipedia page says, "not even light can escape" . |

Just thought I'd toss that in. |
So Bitter. Really Not Okay
Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 690 | May 28th, 2008 at 01:17pm I'm not sure if the end of the universe could be caused from Black/White holes, but there is a theory that in 5 billion years or so, the galaxy Andromeda will collide with our Milky Way galaxy, and the two black holes will collide and form one supermassive black hole, and the matter/stars/planets from both galaxies will be sucked up into it.
That would be the end for Earth, but that's not the end of the universe. And that's only a theory.
Also, there's only a certain amount of stars that become a black hole after they die, because there's an amount of stars that cause a Supernova, and some that might just shrink into a red/white/brown drarf.
Hope that makes sense. |

Age: 33 Gender: Male Posts: 303 | May 29th, 2008 at 06:02am Black holes are what becomes of collapsing stars. It essentially remains as massive as the star but in a much smaller area. I remember hearing that the sun would have to collapse to the size of a car.
If I recall, there are three main theories on blackholes.
1. They lead to another 'dimension'.
2. They lead to oblivion. Absolutely no existence at all past the event horizon.
3. Anything the goes in does come back out as information. Which in terms of physics is very complicated.
New Scientist has some articles about these theories. |
