I saw on a programme somewhere... there is a place that takes bodies people donate to it, they put them out in a wood and film them decomposing. They use the information they gather from that to help in murder investigations and that, like if they find a body, they can use that info to work out how long it's beent here. Though I don't know how much more research they'd need to do into that, surely they most know how long it takes in all differnet conditions by now? I personally want to be cremated. Then my ashes mixed with cement, turnt into a block and then sunk into the sea to have a coral reef grow around me. That would be awesome. Though to be honest, I'm not al that bothered, as long as my organs are donated, do what you want with me after! Just no funeral in a church please. Although I do kind of wish my Grandad had been buried and not cremated... He died when I was six, and didn't really get the chance to know him all that well, and sometimes I wish there was a place I could go to just kind of say hello. I don't know why. I miss him more now then when it first happened, and I wasn't allowed to the funeral then. So there is a downside to cremation there... but that said, thats more for my benefit than for my Grandad's. |

I personally would rather be cremated because I think it would help people move on and understand that I was really gone. Also, if one of my close friends or one of my family memeber died, I would like to see them cremated because I think it would help me move on and it would help me grasp the concept that they were dead and gone. I think burials take up a lot of land space and I disagree with letting a corpse rot in the ground forever. My sister was buried and I wish she wasn't. I don't like thinking about her body wasted away in a coffin. |
gazelles. Thinking Happy Thoughts Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 566 | Personally, I'm still undecided, but I think in the end that I'd rather be buried. The idea of rotting away in the ground used to really gross me out, but then I was talking to my dad about it one night and he said "funerals are for living, not the dead." That really struck me, for some reason. If you're dead, obviously it doesn't matter to you what happens to your body, and I think it would be nice for the people who knew you in your life to be able to go to your funeral and have a place where they could go to talk to you. On the other hand, there is the land space problem, so I don't know. |
