This is it! The day all us Umbrella Academy fans have been waiting for. Be sure to get to our Portland Store on Tuesday April 8, 2008 because Gerard Way (the mastermind behind the Umbrella Academy and lead singer of My Chemical Romance) will be signing from 4-6 P.M. That's right, he's in town for a concert and we're lucky enough to get him to come into the shop for a couple of hours. So go ahead and bring in a CD and pick up a copy of the Umbrella Academy while you're here to get him to sign them.

I got a TFAW news letter today in my email and guess what was in it?

"We don't know if you've heard of this little comic called The Umbrella Academy or the band My Chemical Romance yet, but if you have heard of them, you know who Gerard Way is.

We cordially invite you to stop by our Portland Store on Tuesday April, 8th from 4-6 P.M. to get your comic book signed, take a picture or just chat with one of the coolest dudes you'll ever meet.

wtf???? I didn't receive that bulletin (hm...remind me to check my subscriptions) but I can't say I'm sorry, with it looking like that.

I know! I was amazed they let it go out like that myself. It did rather amuse though.

GW: *Sticks out hand* HI HONEY! ( when GERARD WAY called me honey..i died) In Love In Love
Me: HI! (my voice cracked)
GW: * smiles/ laughs at my cracking voice* My name is Gerard, whats your name?
Me: Nathalie
GW: Natalie? thats a pretty name
Me: *hands sketch book* Im a huge fan! i love your comics and the bands music
GW: Aw! thank you so much * writes Nata in sketch book* Um.. is spelled L-I-E at the end
Me:Yeah, but... It has an H after the T
Gw: lookes down
Me: Yeah, my parents are weird.
GW: *smiles and adds a small H and finishes what he is writing signing*
Me* hands comic book when he is done*
Gw: *signes it*
Me: alright, i drew you a picture for your birthday tomorrow * takes out vampire picture*
GW: *laughes and smiles* ITS AWESOME! thats the kind of stuff i like to sketch out. Thank you so much!
Me: *smiles*i one more question...Um can you sign my face
GW: haha sure! ( THE MAN TOUCHED MY FACE AND MY NECK!)
Me: THANKS!!
GW: *shakes my hand again* Bye! nice meeting you

THEN MY MOM CAME OVER GAVE HIM A LETTER SHE WROTE HIM

I didn't hear about this signing until AFTER the concert .... I was there, and I could gone ... I was so upset!
Oh well. Life goes on I suppose.
