My friend has an eating disorder, and obviosly it is very hard to see her be like that, and it's the worst way to lose weight.
I don't understand why people have eating disorders anyway, even when they already were thin.

The best way is a healthy (not starving youself!) diet, and of course exercise. i really see no other way to it. Go to the gym or something, and no going to McDonald's when your hungry. Have a freakin' salad instead.

No, I don't think its a good thing for young kids to go on diets, but they should eat healthy. What I mean by that is I think its a bad thing for kids to calorie count and stuff like that. I think they should just try to eat a healthy snack instead of reaching for the potato chips or sweets.

Eating disorders can be caused by trauma, but I think the media has a bigger role. Not only are most celebrities thin, but celebrities that some people idolize have eating disorders, so maybe that makes some people think its an acceptable way to lose weight.

I really don't think that this is the place for asking if you're fat or not. But, I did do a BMI check...20.6, and that's in the "normal weight" range.

It's a mental disorder. People think that just because they're losing weight, it's ABOUT losing weight. of course that becomes the obsession, but eating disorders almost always stem from some other inner lying problem.
But it's hard TO understand unless you've gone through one.
