high-five-ulation Killjoy Age: 103 Gender: Female Posts: 20 | OK heres what I think:and im sure alot of people arent going to like what i have to say A: I dont think its a big deal about the "fucking yourself" or whatever. I think that the band has a right to perform and do whatever the fuck they want onstage-its a parents choice to bring their children B: I do think that gerard/mychem has changed. If one is surrounded by fame/teenie girls(not saying all fans of mcr are teenies but im sure we can all agree that my chem has a good share of 12 girls that love mcr because they think gerard is "zomg so flippin cute" ) all the time, they are bound to change. I mean, im not saying that theyre bad people/dont care about their fans anymore--im just saying that it SEEMS that they are sick of the constant attention they get. agh dont get me wrong, i still love my chem but this is just they way it seems to me. |
Amy-Faye Jazz Hands Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 313 | Reading this thread caused me to go into a spiral of hate towards the band. I hated them all of a sudden, i ripped all there posters down off my walls. I realized that they had ruined me life. I was in the popular gang before i liked them. Now i have depression and am constantly bullied at school. But i thought it was OK, because the band were gonna help me through it. Stupid to rely on them i know. But i did. I've realized that they are slowly loosing what they were about Gerard said they started a band because they had a point. well they had more then one, and one of them being about respecting women. When i first saw the video of him making the crowd 'fuck' themselves i thought nothing of it, it was funny to me. But if you look at it in context. Gerard was abusing his powers by making them do that, and the comment about girls dong it for most of the rest of there lives was just plain sexist. Don't hate on me. Don't try to change my opinion, i don't know if i will ever like them again. I'm only on here now to see if that would help me. But so far no good, but I'm trying. I know how much i loved the band, and everything. but i hate them now, and i want to change that, but i can't. I know it seems stupid that I'm telling you guys this. But i need to tell someone. |
AwakexAndxUnafraid Killjoy Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 63 | People overanalyze everything Gee does. Its never the rest of the band, just Gerard. I wonder why? Thats not to say I'm personally a fan of some of the stuff that was said at PR (a lot of it seemed disrespectful to the female fans) but I can understand he was probably just rowdy from being on stage and being in love. It bothered me, but I'm over it |
Person0001 Always Born a Crime Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 5099 | What does being married have to do with caring for their fans? And Die! Die! Die! knows I disagree with - but have never flamed - her. |
STFUvanner_x Killjoy Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 93 | It was kinda diff reading that. And how gerard was against womanizing and now saying what he said, i was like "what? im lost now". And I know My Chem can be CRAZY, since thats them. But I still love them, no matter what he said or what the others say. I know they still care for us, esp Gerard, even if he said that, he still is there for us. But after they took their break, theyve still been getting more attention by the press, being blamed for something someone else did, thats not even MCR related. Theyre just maturing. i recently talked wth my dad about how ppl are saying "MCR are going mainstream!!!" And thinking were gonna lose them. He just says theyre maturing, their still My Chemical Romance, no matter what happens, even the changes, theyre still then" But for a while now, ive been hearing some things about MCR, and its making me confused. But all I think is, they arent changing or slipping away from us, they like to do crazy things, and i dont see any point of freaking out all because Gerard said for us to 'fuck ourselves'. But I still Love them no matter wat. Nothing will change my opinion or my love for them. |
Person0001 Always Born a Crime Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 5099 | EMERGENCY!!!: Gerard is still against womanizing, and one thing has nothing to do with the other. This argument is so effing tired. He was simply trying to get the crowd to chant with him, that's all. Everyone should be well used to G's raunchiness up there - it's been like that since Day One, I don't know where everyone's been. EMERGENCY!!!: That's nothing new either - the band has always gotten shit on by certain forms of press, and on message boards. Just ignore it, it's all bullshit. |
STFUvanner_x Killjoy Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 93 | Deb: I can agree about that. I dont mind what gerard does, since its him, and he does crazy things like that. I just get confused when someone puts it in another way it gets confusing, its like "Ok, so it sounds like whoever is putting it that way is making it sound like he's doing something against what he thinks. Im confused about wat yer saying????" but yeah, its when i read things about them, and it gets twisted around to the point where I get confused. But the press and other things get annoying, its getting old now |
Person0001 Always Born a Crime Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 5099 | ^ Yeah you have to understand that MCR has (and has always had) a lot of detractors, plus they now have disgruntled ex-fans who didn't want them to grow. These people will twist anything that the band does in order to suit their own agenda. You should take it with a grain of salt. You know what the dudes are about - listen to your heart. |
STFUvanner_x Killjoy Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 93 | AMEN lol. Alot of ppl will do anything to change my mind about what i think of MCR. I just walk off. Its like when some ppl want them to go back to those 'Revenge' days, and not when they were The Black Parade. they just need to know theyre trying out different things, and moving on. they like putting more sprinkles on a cupcake, theyre trying out diff things everytime, and ppl need to know that, its not like theyre going to be positive at some point and then negative, they always try to put things positive in our lives. |

Person0001 Always Born a Crime Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 5099 | areyoueffinserious?:I disagree 150%. Most of the married couples have been in love and lived together for years, and Gerard was in a long-term relationship that he deemed "like marriage" prior to this one, so I don't see what you think would have magically changed just because they've gotten a piece of paper. All of their wives know and support what they do, and Lindsey is herself a touring musician. I still don't see what this has to do with "time and effort toward fans" however. I can tell you right now that the amount of time they spend signing autographs and taking pictures with fans has not changed in years. |
invisible monsters. Bleeding on the Floor Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 1759 | ^i agree with you and i also agree with everyone who has said this argument is getting tired. A lot of my friends have think they've changed and become "sell-outs" too, mostly because of how their music has changed and how they talk (or don't talk, rather) on stage anymore. Well, I disagree with all those people. A lot of people want them to go back to their "revenge days" but, i mean, they weren't happy in the revenge days...Mostly, me, and all of their loyal fans just want them to be happy. That might sound like the stupidest thing ever, but it's how i feel. As for the music changing, it's not something that was unexpected or anything. They even said "you'll never get the same thing twice from this band" and they also said "we sort of made the album for ourselves" but then said, "the black parade is gone now, and we're just going to be my chemical romance again" Maybe not in those exact words, but you get it, right? There really is no such thing as a "my chemical romance song". and lack of saying things on stage? Gerard clarified that he feels the band has said a lot of things on stage, and he likes that they did that, but they just want to be a rock band, you know? Just...rock. Which is what they're doing. And sometimes i even forget they're human, too, and expect them to care deeply about each and every one of their fans that comes by and passes them in the street. Can you really blame them for being a little worn out by all the attention? It's not like they were really used to it in their high school days. I do think they've changed, but like the people above me, they've just matured. You can't really expect human beings to just not change for their whole lives... |
jared leto. Awake and Unafraid Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 12568 | To be honest, I dont think the band has lost their values. I think most fans have lost their faith. |
Woodstock '69 Jazz Hands Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 344 | I think as long as they keep a good head on their shoulders and faith in their heart. Music in their life, and fan's on the up high they're fine, as long as we keep faith in them they haven't lost their values if anything they've gained them. After gerard became sober and clean i think a lot of fan's got lost because they thought someone was trying to change them when he did it for his own good reason's a true fan would become MORE of a fan after that accomplishment. |
