Hi all! My name is Jillian. I have lived in Southern California my entire life. I'd much rather say "I'm a Californian" to "I'm an American" because I just don't associate with the rest of American culture very well.
I'm a bit of a nerd, and spend most of my time reading, writing, drawing, watching tv, or listening to music turned up as loud as I can get it on my little purple stereo. I'm very shy around most people, but when I really get to know someone, I let the insanity inside start showing. I either talk too much or too little.
I've been a vegetarian for over a year now and am very proud of this. Neither I, nor my family thought I would truly stick by it, because I'm not usually a very committed person, but I guess I proved us all wrong. I now shudder at the thought of eating meat again.

My Chemical Romance

I can confidently say that My Chemical Romance is my favorite band. My Chem didn't save my life. Fortunately, my life has never needed saving. But My Chem, their music, has changed my life. They make me happy, and keep me sane. I've never heard anything quite like My Chemical Romance. The passion and emotion and care they pour into everything they do cannot be described, it can only be experienced. Their music is so liberating. I believe in this band. I believe in the people, their music, and their message. They give me something solid to believe in. To The End.
HIM
HIM is the only band I've found so far that has the potential to rival MCR with the spot of numero uno in Jillian-land. They didn't win, but are at a very close second, more of a one and a half type spot. The music appeals to the hopeless romantic in me, and I really admire the charming Mr. Ville Valo's ability to wear his heart on his sleeve, and to write some of the most beautiful and multi-layered songs I've ever heard, and in a language that is not his first, I might add. I really love all the different sides of HIM's music, the clash between love and hate, and life and death. <3
The Twilight Series
Ah, the Cullens. *sob* Why aren't you real?!
I've read each of the Twilight books so many times, I've practically gotten whole scenes memorized. I think what I love about the series is that the world, Forks, and all the characters, are so real and believable, despite the supernatural element, that you are completely taken away with the story. You're there with Bella all the way. She's so awkward, you can totally relate to her. That and Edward is the template after which every guy should be modeled after. Sigh...
Music
I personally lack any musical talent whatsoever. I've honestly gone through about seven or eight instruments, and found that I'm neither talented, nor committed enough to play any of them. But I do enjoy listening to other, more talented people play their own instruments. I couldn't imagine life without these bands and artists. I wouldn't even want to. That would be such a miserable existence.

Art
Art is the only thing I've truly felt I was good at. Well, good enough at. I know there are people who are better at it than me, but I try not to think about that. Because art is the only thing I can actually see myself doing in my future. I enjoy all mediums of art, even though I'm god awful at sculpture, and okay at photography. Drawing and painting is more my style.
