About
What is there really to say about me?
My name is Alex. I'm 19 years and I'm a college student double majoring in political science and French, with a possible minor in religious studies. I'm cynical, anti-social, sarcastic, and I have a very bad temper. I am extraordinarily busy on most days and I don't have time nor the patience for your bullshit (though I very often take too much time out of my day for my own).
Other interesting facts about me:
I am agnostic~ I am pretty much against all forms of organized religion and I definitely do not believe that the Bible (or any other Holy Book for that matter) just dropped out of the sky or that some higher power called "God" wants the people to worship him in a certain way
I am a bleeding heart liberal. I am pro-gay rights, pro-choice, pro-universal healthcare, against capital punishment etc.
I am a complete dork/nerd/geek. I like comic books and anime and I spend most of my day on the computer. I love a good debate/discussion when concerning religion, politics etc.
I <3 Cafe Mochas. It doesn't really matter where I get them. (I wish I could afford them...)
I enjoy action, horror, and suspense movies with the occasional comedy thrown in. I also enjoy non-fiction books and some fantasy.
I am an elitist. This includes my view of music. I don't really think that needs any further explanation, but I'll give it anyway.
Part of the reason rock doesn't have the same grasp on people is because most of what is manufactured out today is pure crap. Seriously. The only thing on some people's mind is a hit song/album. What will sell more records? I have NO respect for bands that do that, but I'm not going to name names. I think that in order to get back rock to what it was in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, bands really need to go back to the basics. End of story.
Deal with it.
Believe it or not, I have some redeeming qualities. I'm emotional, hard-working, artistic, creative, and I really do care about other people. I am ambitious. I want to do something in my life that betters the lives of people all over the world. I am, in short, basically amazing (at least in my own opinion).
I started listening to MCR when I was a junior in high school. A friend of mine pointed out their cd (Revenge) in a music store in Toronto on a class trip. I loved them almost the first instant I heard them. I listen to a few newer bands, but I consider myself mostly to be a classic rock/metal junkie. My other favorite band is Led Zeppelin.
I normally lurk on the discussion boards and the personal question boards. Every once in a while, I'll venture over to Band News in order to see if there's any news about the tour, a new cd/dvd etc. But you probably won't find me posting there.
Favorite Bands:
My Chemical Romance, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Muse, The Used, Paramore, Boston, STYX, Kansas, Eagles, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Green Day,The Beatles, The Killers, U2, Flyleaf, Guns 'N Roses, Blue Oyster Cult, Metallica
Favorite Movies:
Casablanca, Hot Fuzz, Se7en, Shaun of the Dead, V for Vendetta, Sweeney Todd, The Shining
Favorite TV Shows:
House, Supernatural, CSI, The Daily Show
Favoite Books:
Battle Royale, Heart Shaped Box, Stephen King, The Da Vinci Code, The Lovely Bones, Lucky, Harry Potter, The Things They Carried, Twilight, New Moon, Freakonomics, American Facism, Nickel and Dimed
