The Revolt Team is a street team
for teenagers that is devoted to
promoting peace. We're trying to
decrease the amount of racism,
sexism, violence, homophobia,
animal cruelty, and environmental
damage in the world. Basically,
we're trying to bring down the amount
of hate, which is what it all boils down too.
When we say that we're trying to
change the world, we absolutely do not
expect to erase all of the problems that
exist. That would be completely ridiculous.
The point of this is to open the eyes of those
who were blissfully unaware of these issues,
and to give those whose eyes were
always wide open a way to help out.
The theory behind this project is that the
smallest things make a difference. With
each person we reach, we are doing more
and more good for the world.
Another thing that is important to know is that
you don't have to be perfect to join the Revolt
Team. We're not looking for people who
spend at least an hour of every day helping
out at an elderly home or picking up trash.
If you do that, that's great. We really
appreciate it from the bottom of our
hearts. But we're just looking for people
who agree with our opinions and are willing
to help us make a difference by being
good people.
You need to understand that we can't do this
without each and every one of you. Every
person who decides to be less hateful and more
loving is helping the world in such a huge way.
It's hard to see the difference you're making, but
you really are making one. By being in a
good mood and being respectful
toward the people around you, chances
are you'll put them in a better mood as
well. It's basically a chain reaction kinda thing,
which is exactly what we're looking for.
Also, most people think that you have to
be vegan or vegetarian to join, since we're
trying to stop animal cruelty. That's not true.
Not everyone can snap their fingers and
become vegetarian just like that. We don't
want to force you to change your diet or
eating habits in any way. If you do some
research about slaughterhouse abuse
and decide to stop eating meat, that's great.
But it's not always that easy; so as long as
you are aware of what goes on in
slaughterhouses and you do your best to
educate others about it as well, you're doing
your job.
Lastly, I'd just like to say that we don't want
members of the Revolt Team to be apathetic
about it. This isn't something you can just
sign up for and then forget about.
We need everyone to participate in changing
the world and spreading the word about The
Revolt. Give people the link to our MySpace,
our email address, our AIM screen name,
or our website URL.
Let's change the world.
