I am Mom who loves to rock. I don't get out much, when I do it's for live music. I take my teen daughter to the shows we both enjoy. This year was MCR twice, Projekt Revolution and Panic!at the Disco. I think it's important to know what's in your kids' i-pod and enjoy what you can together. My mom grew up in the 50's and her music doesn't relate to what I enjoyed in the 80's-90's of my youth. But the music now comes directly from the alternative music that came on the scene then and I love it. Or at least I can remember how I really could have used a song like that when I was young. I'd rather have my daughter have the outlet than bottle it all up and if this music is reaching her and vocalizing something deep in her, I'd rather sing along and know she's not alone than give her a hard time because they said something dark or dirty. I wish The Black Parade was around during my teenage angst and I am thankful that this album has really been a deep bonding experience for my daughter and I. More parents should tune in. And rock out!!!!!
