Cartiledge takes longer to heal than normal lobe piercings.
My brother said either a month or three monthes to fully heal,
I can't recall which. Soreness before then is understandable.
As long as you are keeping it clean and it isn't infected, it should
be fine, though don't ever get a gun piercing again.

I was thinking of getting a navel piercing like this, would I have to get them all done seperately and how likely are the chances of them migrating?

Would I be better off with the standard one?

Gold-Plated Dirt.:
Buy better earrings and clean it twice a day with some saline solution.
Thanks. I'm doing the second part already, so that's good. So now I have to figure out when the hell I can get earrings.
Hmm. Maybe I can get to Newbury Comics soon.

Don't let that stop you! To a kid of 7, a tiny pain like that seems bad, and you build it up in your mind over the years to be much worse than the actual experience. Trust me, you have a few more years on you now, your pain threshold has grown vastly, and you have the self-control to grit your teeth and suck up the three seconds of stinging that ear-piercing entails. Don't allow your childhood fear to hold you back - if you want to get something pierced, take a friend to hold your hand for moral support, they will be able to talk you through it if you're really apprehensive. Smile I go through a similar thing every time I get a new piercing... I'm all super-confident until I'm sitting there getting marked up, and the adrenalin starts rushing and I think to myself, 'Oh God, this is going to sting like nothing else...' and then suddenly it's done and I hardly felt a prick. I think it's just nerves, excitement, all the stuff that makes getting a piercing so much fun! It's never nearly as bad as I remember it next time around.

Thank you!
I guess your right.
I'll probably get adicted to percings though, lol.

ok, i was stupid and did not read this thread before i got a piercing in my left ear cartilidge.
iconsecuently i got it done at the first reputable place i saw (an accessories store) and had it done with a gun.
i have had it for nearly a month now, but it still is sore when i press around it, like the soreness when you press on a mild bruise.
theres no infection as i clean and check it regularly.
does anyone know how i can fix this?

Dude, that exact same thing happened to me.
I got my cartilage pierced with a gun, and it was really sore and all for months on end.
It got infected fairly easily too, but me being the stubborn kid I am didn't let it heal at all.
S'all good now though, which is really lucky.
So don't panic - continue to clean and check it regularly.
It may be a few months until your ear returns to feeling completely okay, as it did before the piercing.
If it starts to get infected, don't risk it like I did. Just take the piercing out and let it heal over. The pain definitely isn't worth it.
Then eventually, you can get it pierced again with a needle instead.

As Ruby said, cartilage takes a little longer to heal than outright flesh, and if there's no sign of infection you should be pretty right, just give it a few more weeks. The pain you're feeling on touching it could be due to sleeping on it, I found I had big problems with my daith and tragus because I sleep on my side and they were pretty painful. However, it could also be due to a cyst, which is a common occurrence with gun piercings (I've had surgery to remove three cysts from my earlobes) - basically, some skin from the surface gets stuck in the tunnel instead of being pushed right out by the gun, and because it's got a slightly different make-up from cartilage and internal layers of skin, it walls itself off like a foreign body and grows a big lump of scar tissue around it, rather like a grain of sand becoming a pearl. They can range anywhere from totally painless to severely painful, and usually present themselves as just a lump or chunk that you can feel under the skin. Sometimes they disappear by themselves (usually by being expelled by the immune system), other times (like mine) they require surgery to remove them, which entails general anaesthetic and about a day in hospital (not overnight).
But, if there's no lump, and you're keeping it clean, just keep doing what you're doing and if it hasn't healed by about 8 - 10 weeks, I'd recommend you take it out - the jewellery could be cheap and causing irritation, causing pain and inhibiting healing.

You could by all means get all three piercings done in the one session - it's actually easier to do it that way as they will all be spaced evenly. I got one side of my lip pierced, then went back to get the other side done a few months later, and had to take both out and get them done at the same time so the spacing was even, as one was closer to my labret than the other to start with.
Migration in navel rings can happen, but it would depend on your body's reaction (some people's immune systems reject piercings badly, others accept the jewellery and it stays put), the jewellery you're wearing in it (bars are better than rings as they don't rub on clothes or get caught), how deep the piercing is (more skin = longer-lasting, as a thin layer of flesh holding the bar can stretch out over time), and your body shape - if you rapidly gain and lose weight, or yo-yo around, it stresses the skin around your abdomen and they can migrate badly if you gain or lose a lot of weight - it's typical to see pregnant women with disgusting navel piercings because of the skin around their navel stretching and forcing the ring out.
If you have any other piercings and they've been okay as far as migration, I don't see why you would have any problems with your navel, same as you'd be just as badly off with a multiple navel as the standard one, it makes no real difference.
Just bear in mind that your bellybutton is quite sensitive, and getting it pierced may cause nausea afterwards - this doesn't happen to all people, but when I got mine done I fainted half an hour afterwards just because I felt really sick from having my bellybutton probed and poked. But as I said, it's quite uncommon and you won't feel it until a while after the piercing process, so you'll be fine.

A few months ago, I [myself] re-pierced one of my ears, because the hole had closed up, and I've been wearing earrings every day since then. Is it safe to take my earrings out without the hole closing up now?

[It's a regular ear piercing. I have both ears double pierced Smile ]

It should be okay, to take the earring out.
I mean, as soon as you think it's closing up again, just pop the earring back in.
Your ear lobes are very flexible like that.
It's happened to me a few times.
And plus, it takes a while for a piercing hole to completely heal over, especially when it's been pierced again in the same spot.

I got new 6g tapers yesterday : D
They're snakes, about an inch long, with all these curves in them and the body gets thicker.
It's facing forward standing on their tails like snakes did in the Garden of Eden story, kinda. The head's what stops the tapers.
Theyre so cool, but if they get even the least bit crooked, they look pretty dumb, so I gotta be careful.
I also bought a septum retainer >>;
I found a guy that used to be a professional peircer, but he started a skateboard shop in our town, but he said he'll do my septum if I can get the skaters to not skate in his parking lot anymore XD
I don't know, it's kinda shady, but then again the guy really did use to be a professional peircer, lots of people about 3-4 years older than me have liprings and nose rings and eyebrow rings that he did, and they never say anything bad about him or the way he peirced . . . And he still has a lot of his sterelized equipment since he does still do a peircing from time to time.
And he knows my age, it's not like I brought him a fake ID . .
I don't know, I don't know if I'm gonna go through with it or not.

(unrelated) I went through everything and found the studs, and my ears are feeling soooo much better. Never doing that again.
