an egg gets wasted each month anyway... and those _could_ have been a child. so i dont see a problem aborting if its in its early stages. but if its developing, and its healthy... and u abort it.. thats murder. and its wrong. but if the child will be unsafe or have problems, its another thing. i have a sister-in-law who is a total screw up, and aborted close to 6 babies... but that was in a mix up of drugs, and alcoholism... in that case, id abort too... but that has a reason behid it. if your just gonna be careless then no. its wrong. she was very careless. but now the kids dont have to deal with that. my solid oppinion, is if you know its wrong, and you COULD care for that baby, but you abort it cause you dont want it. or your affraid. thats discusting. but if you _know _ the kids ganna be screwed up, have and awful life, and you cant care for it. then thats undrestandable... not completly rite... but understandable

Have you ever thought that maybe 'more and more' people will be getting abortions because they are only alive due to the fact that their mothers thought like you did, and didn't get abortions even though they may have wanted to, but not done it for fear of being 'immoral', etc?
Think about it, of course 'more and more' people will get abortions in the future, provided it remains legal - because the population of the earth isn't decreasing or remaining steady - it's just getting bigger and bigger, and that means more and more people will be getting driver's licences. Voting. Getting pregnant. And so on, and so forth.

(and, a side note, my little girl arrived on August 10. Definitely the cutest embryo ever to make it out of the womb. Just in case anyone was wondering )

its the mothers choice. if i ever got pregnat before 20 then i would not make a single THOUGHT of not having an aboration. it can skrew up your life. plus harm you.

i feel extremely strongly about abortion. i've had an opinion on it for quite some time but it was only earlier this year when i wrote an essay on it for my english class that i really discovered my feelings about it.
i had to do loads of research for what i was writing and all of it just seemed to make me so upset.
i disagree with it so strongly. a lot of people i know, even friends, have said to me, well you don't know what your descision would really be unless you're actually in that situation, but i do. i could never go through with termination if i got pregnant, not with the excuse that it was inconvenient for me, or i wasn't 'ready'. maybe if there were complications, maybe if it would mean me giving birth to the baby could kill both of us, then i'd have to consider it, but only in an extreme circumstance could i agree to an abortion.
i know that there are many different reasons for abortions to be carried out, because of teenage pregnancy, financial problems, social stigmas, etc. i don't see those sort of problems are justifiable excuses though.
having an abortion isn't just as easy as killing off some growing cells inside of you and then going on with life, forgetting about it. many women and girls who experience an abortion can have develop serious mental problems.
i think that at 9 weeks or at 19 weeks it's still the same principal. people say if a fetus is terminated very early on then it makes the abortion acceptable but i really don't see how that can be true. i believe that from the moment of conception, when an egg is fertilised, it's a human life. it might not look like a 'baby' when it's just a developing ball that managed to lodge itself into the wall of your uterus but it's a living, growing person that you have created.

regarding people who are comparing having an early abortion to having a period- i really don't see how they can be compared.
the period is a natural process that the body goes through to shed the lining of the uterus because no egg has been fertilised.
planned abortion is an act where man/woman takes things into his/her own hands and kills off a fertilised egg that could have become a person.
so to me, there's a difference.

(although there is actually a religion, i think it's one from the far east, where for several days after a women's period, they mourn the loss of the child that they could have had, and no male is allowed to touch them. i forget what religion it is though.)

i think it's in england, fetuses can be terminated up to 23 weeks. not so long ago there was a baby that was only 21 weeks old when it was born. the mother lied to the doctors and told them her baby was 23 weeks old, because she knew they wouldn't resuscitate her child if she told them it was only 21 weeks. the baby was resuscitated and lived, and is still living.
what does that say about every 23 week old fetus that was aborted?!

i can appreciate people who have commented on the last few pages on how they are for abortion being legal because they would rather have a woman go through with an abortion in a safe environment by qualified doctors instead of abortion being illegal and her having to get it done by some backstreet operator. i would far rather that a women get a legitimate, safe abortion than one carried out by someone who doesn't know what they're doing in an unhygenic place. but then i would also rather abortions not be an option at all, unless it has something to do with the health of the mother/baby or in my mind an actual reason and not a half hearted excuse because a woman had unprotected sex and made a mistake.

The population does keep getting bigger, but abortion shouldnt be have to be the way to steady the population.

I know myself, personally, couldn't go through with an abortion.

I think if kids recieved proper sex education, we'd see the number of abortions decrease. It's sad and frightening how little some teenagers know about sex and it's consequences, if protection is not used.

I do think it is unfair to bring a child up into the world if you know they will not lead a happy life. Whether if be financially or otherwise.

No one should be able to force a women to do something like that. Abortion should stay a choice, and should never be an obligation.

Agreed. Women rock! I mean come one! We do! That's pretty sick to make someone abort their kid when they don't want to, and just because its a girl. Though I don't know if they are actually doing that because I don't know a lot about China, I'm just going by what Girl next door said.

Im against the sexual discrimination but the people of China can harly support the existing population. My mom went to Chin. She said that everybody lives terribly. Mainland China, where tourists are often advised not to go because of the terrible crime rate, is so poverty stricken it's sick. their population is out of control and NEEDS to be maintained.

My Friend Is Going To Have an Abortion Later This Week Even Though Im Against Them I Am Going To Go With Her . She Didnt Fully Know All Facts . She Thought Is She Was On Top That She Wouldnt Get Pregnant. I Think That There Should Be More Information For Younger People About ALL The Risks .
