Racism

So, what do you think about racism?

Racism is retarded. Just because someone has different skin color is no reason to hate them.

Ignorance. All hate stems from ignorance. Excuse me if that's a quote from somebody else, my mum said it once.

People think racism means hating people because of the colour of their skin. Techincally, its belief that one race is superior to others.

I dislike racism. Racism towards white people, black people, red-and-white polka dotted people. Because no race is superior, we're all equal.

Has anyone else on here seen the film 'Corina Corina'?
I love that film. It's set in America before all were considered equal, about a man and his daughter who hire a coloured maid. The man and the maid fall in love, and the maid takes the little girl to see her family.
Theres a really sweet scene where the little girl and the maid's little girl are sitting in a tree.
The man's little girl says: "Do you taste like chocolate?"
And the maids little girl says: "Do you taste like vanilla?"
I just felt like saying that because it shows the innocence of children, and how the colour of skin makes no difference to them.

Racism is horrible. It makes no difference if your skin is pale, dark, red or blue. We are all humans inside.

No one's perfect, so why should anyone think that they are better than someone else just because of their beliefs? THat's what I always thought.

Racism is like a plague on our society. Why hate someone because of their race? We are all human beings and that's what matters.

You know, when an old 'friend' of me was yelling at someone: " Yeah go to your own land, YOU don't B-E-L-O-N-G here, this is the country of white people not black people, why can't you just stay in your own country you m*therf*ck*r." He yelled, but he don't know that that black person is a friend of me, so i said to my old friend: " you know, you got something in your eye" and then i spitted right in he's face and walked away with my REAL friend.

so racism is making me sick. *nods*

If any of you have read the book noughts and crosses - Malorie Blackman, it goes very deep into racism. White people had no freedom, it was wrong for a white person to love a black person ect. And in the end, many white people are killed. After reading it, I understood racism much more, and Realise it hurts much more then I first thought. I'm totally against it. I've never been racist, and hopefully never will.

Racism is just stupid.
I think there's no point to it.
People need to understand that everyone is so different from another
person that color makes the least of difference.
People say that the racists, and sexists, and homophobics feel the way
they do just because people don't like something that's "different" or "distinct" from everyone/thing else.
But all those racists, sexists, homophobics, don't realize how different
people are already, without the skin color differences.

And the "religous" people who are pedgodist against others because it's
what god and the bible tell them to do. Well that's just freakin' hypcriticle.
Becuase at the same time god want everyone to love everyone else.

But people aren't going to stop judgeing and think
their "group" "race" "religion" "sex" is better than the next.
It's just plain human nature. ::shrugs::

My opinion is that that kind of slang is more openly accepted when black people use it and when white people use it, black people go into self-defense mode, thinking that it was a condescending remark on their behalf.

Forgive me if I'm offending anyone or if I'm sounding like a bitch, but that's my opinion.

As for racism in general, I really don't get it, and this is my viewpoint. It always has been and it always will remain simply this:

There is only one race on planet Earth: the human race.

Is it possible to be honest without crossing the thin line into racism on certain topics? When me and my friends discuss things like this, we always come off really racist, but were only speaking the truth.

As long as you take responsibility for what you're saying.
You need to understand that some people will get offended.

But I welcome you to use any words you desire (except for profanity, duh lol).

I've always wondered why as well.

For my English literature exam we read Of Mice And Men.
One of the characters, a black stable buck named Crooks, is referred to as "that/the nigger". I think he's only called Crooks by a ranch worker once.
I felt a surge of anger everytime I heard it said.
Personally, it disgusts me. I refused to say it in class when we discussed his character.

We're all equal. No one is better then someone else because of their skin colour or beliefs.
I don't understand racist people at all. I really don't.

My dad is racist...the rest of my family kind of it too. I'm against it with a passion. Why do we need racism? We are all the same no matter what color we are. I think it's another one of those pointless things that don't need to be around but are. I am totally against it.

I am not a racist.

But I have never once in my life met a single black person that I've been able to respect. Every black person I've met, be it man or woman, has been disrespectful, uneducated, rude and violent.

But I still give every person I meet a new chance. No matter the skin color.

yeah sometimes i think that way too, but alot of them use that excuse because thats what some parents teach them, they grow up with their parents, grandparents ext. talking about what happened to their ancestors
so automatically thats the exuse that they use.
but basically what i think about racism is that its just ridiculous, people should just stop being racist but i know thats its not going to happen. that there will always be a kkk and hatred towards races whether its for black people, white people or hispanic people (me being hispanic i know) but i guess ill always have hope for it.
