^Wanting to control someone, or have power over a situation
is not a "crazy man's thought". It is a normal thought, present in most people
at one time or another in their lives.
Rapists just take that thought and apply it to a sexual situation,
rather than the other aspects they could instead. |

That's just an average thought depending on your personality.
If someone would rape just for "fun" then I would class that as a "crazy man's thought."

There are millions of people with pyschological issues, but obviously, not all of them are rapists.
It's impossible to know who might be tempted to rape someone, and therefore, how does a rapist - or anyone with similar issues - ever receive treatment?
Treatment might be in the form of pychiatric help, or punishment, but how can you treat a person when you don't know what they're capable of?
I don't think rape can ever be eliminated completely from society. It may be lessened, and that's always a good thing, but I think it'll always exist. |

Posts: 120 | January 25th, 2007 at 06:01pm I think rapists have a serious disease. Accompanied by (most likely) life experiences that have been less than pleasant. However I don't believe that it is because they want to ruin someone else's life, though many times they succeed in doing so.
Psychological help is probably the best thing for a rapist, though I doubt they can be freed of that... desire. I'm a bit undecided on this issue, because there are so many different ways to look at it. And since there's no straight forward answer. |

I have a neighbor that was arrested for molesting his seventeen-year-old granddaughter. He went to jail for a year, but he plead guilty to a lesser crime, and no one in the neighborhood was alerted. 'Til everyone saw his picture in the paper. |

I would keep the baby.
I believe it deserves to live, even if it were the result of something bad.
Or course rape is wrong, but a life doesn't need to be killed because of it.
It's a life you're dealing with.
If you don't want the baby, there are plenty of foster parents who are willing to love the child as their own.
The baby is better off living than dying.
I read an article where a woman was raped and she kept the baby.
The child wondered why she was different from all her other siblings and when she was old enough her parents told her how she was conceived.
She now understands what happened and knew it was wrong.

I know many rape victoms who agree with me. most of the time it isnt the persons fault for getting raped. Most times the person raping the other person could be a friend or someone you think is a great person... and i speak from experience...
A lot of rapers have been diagnosed with psychological disorders... i'm not saying that all the people with psychological disorders or have gone through bad lives become rapers but a lot of them do, and a lot of them also become killers... |
