My parents are forcing me to be a Christian, and they keep on pushing me...I'm not even sure if that's what I want.
I believe in God, and my parents think i'm gonna go to hell for listening to My Chem. I'd rather go to hell than not listen to MCR. So, I started taking this 'rebel against religion' thing more seriously.

Parents are Pissed. Oh well!

Church is freaky anyway.

I am a Christian but I listen to MCR, there are a few songs I don't like when they say GD. Certain people say the same thing to me about MCR being evil but I don't agree, I like praise music and other Christian stuff but nothing Christian has Gerard magical voice and the music MCR does. Don't rebel cause they will blame the music. Not trying to convert but if you have any questions ask away I love to talk about GOD.

I dislike religions. I'm fine with people who believe in God, but what I hate is when they separate people by their beliefs.
I mean c'mon. grouping people as Christians, Satanists, Catholics, etc.? that's stupid.

I also dislike people who treat others differently because of their beliefs. I dont think its right.

So... people shouldn't have a religion?
Like people shouldn't be Christian or Satanist or Catholic?
We should just all assume they believe what they believe without having anyway to differentiate their beliefs?

I'm a catholic by choice.
It suprise's a lot of people as people are like...why would you want to be that.
I have very different beliefs to other people and I think that's how it should be.
I think that people should choose their religion and not be swayed by how other people feel about it.
Like, I believe that if people open their mind they can see things maybe that aren't seen.
I have a very different take on the Bible and I know it shoulds strange but I feel there are hidden messages.

I believe in God, but not in the conventional way probably, and I hate it when people try to tell me why "I'm wrong." Your personal belief is different than mine because of things that have happened in your life and the way you were raised, and I just do not believe that some giant, omnificient guy with a beard is watching over our every move. "Our" being the planet/mankind.

I also disagree with the whole idea that animals don't have souls. That's probably one of the top five most retarded things I've ever heard.

im a catholic or christian whatever i just believe in a chirst and a god but like i listen to mcr and find nothing wrong with it neitehr does my mother.
now i was raised in a really religious household where my grandmother was a nut who liked to push her beliefs on people and this is where it goes wrong
i belive we have the right to not have people forcing religious beliefs on us/

im also very against the whole "mega church " thing with places like HILLSONG. Its very money orientated they build things that a regular church dosnt need like recording studios and art centers and stuff and i just find it a little disturbing that a church can gain like 5 mil in one night which i mite add is more than the red cross made in a year last year. {i also wonder where this money is going to ?}
also when a church has a effing GIFT STORE and a cafe i think obviously they have strayed too far away from the original idea of what the religion was about

newhoo i bet that little rant had little to do with much of anything
but these are my views on what religion or christianity at least has become.

i have my own religion.
MCRian.
Gerard is the main god and the rest of MCR are saints.
I was never raised in a religious family. We dont have a religion and i decided i need one to put life in its place and give it a reason. I didn't really agree with any other religions so i created one.
my parents dont agree with it and tell me that im being silly and no singers r gods but theyre wrong.
i can believe what ever i want.
no one tell u that u cant be MCRian.

i was under the impression there was going to be some serious discussion about religion in here ?

do you honestly think that Gerard or the other members of my chem wants too be looked at as a god? honestly dont think so.Gerard wanted to show he was just as messed up as everyone else meaning he is just like us.
and your parents were right , singers are not gods theyre normal people.

just remember they are still people and are not immune from mortality.
if GEE got shot in the face he wouldnt be able to get up.

so please if you are going to post something in this thread please post something more serious thatn your do-it-yourself religion that you created and decided to try to pawn as what seems to be a rational thought.

I'm a Christian by default. I was baptised into the Catholic faith by my parents (mum's a Catholic, Dad's Lutheran), but they had the good sense to never take me to church or force me to read the Bible (it would have been hypocritical of them because they don't do either of those things). Instead, they just allowed my brother and I to grow up and make our own decisions in our own time, and I'm very glad of that.
I'm quite scornful of a lot of so-called 'good Christians' that I've come across, just for the fact that they judge others, force their beliefs on others, and believe that they are far superior to the rest of us 'heathens' - things which, to me, are un-Christian behaviour. I don't have a problem with people believing whatever they want to belive in, I feel that faith in something is a necessary part of being human - I just don't want somebody to automatically assume I'm a monster or going to hell because I smoke cigarettes and don't attend church.

I just believe that God's a pretty benevolent kind of deity, and that he has far more important things to worry about than what I'm doing at any given second of the day. I feel that he gave my life to me so I could live it, not restrict absolutely everything for the sake of being 'Godly'. Things like, say, having a drink every now and then, swearing, stuff that doesn't make me a bad person, you know?
I figure I can worship God wherever and whenever it suits me, and he didn't create me so I could spend every minute of my entire life dedicating myself to Him - He wants me to get out there and enjoy the world He created for us, enjoy the life He gave us.
I just feel that the only really necessary part of being a 'good Christian' is to have a good heart, help out others where you can, share your love with as many people as you can (providing they deserve it, of course), and just generally try and do the right thing and think about your actions before you do them. Don't hurt other people, don't judge other people, and treat yourself and others well.

That pretty much sums up my beliefs exactly.

Though I have been going to church every week since I was three or so (whenever I became capable of sitting reasonably still for an hour). It bugged me for a while when I was a kid, because I was only really going because my parents made me. I don't fault them for that; though - they both grew up in rural Ireland and religion was very important to their families. They weren't exactly trying to force anything on me; they just wanted to carry on a tradition of faith.

Now that I'm older and have been Confirmed and all that, I honestly don't mind going to church weekly, and I'm glad my parents had me go when I was a kid. I don't think it's necessary for me to be a good person or a good Christian. I just think it's nice to have an peaceful hour or so a week that I devote to (for lack of a better word) 'proving' my faith in God with my family.

I don't see any logic in it what-so-ever. Thererfore, I do not see a reason to think about such things that can not be proven.

I've ben brought up roman catholic...but I'm starting to see things a little differently. I still believe in the ten commandments and the eight beatitudes and all that...but I really don't think they have to be so strick about it. We are all human, and we all screw up...so why isit that every time you make a mistake you have to go to the fricken confessionsal? I'm definatley a more relaxed christian, I pray at home, and go to church when nessissary....

I used to have this best friend, let's call her Helen. So Helen and I got along just peachily while I was a lovely Christian girl. But then in fifth grade I was agnostic, then I was atheist, and now I'm apatheist ( apathetic agnostic=the belief that one can never know if there is a god/deity or not, but doesn't think it matters/relates to human affairs). She would be all "I'm so disappointed in you" and try and make me feel guilty. I honestly tried with all my heart to be Christian again, but if you can't believe, you can't. So my point is that if you try to convert someone, you can lose friends...she is, obviously, not my friend anymore. Sad

Scientology is a religion where you like believe in yourself sort of... the story is that "thetans" were aliens whose spaceship crashed and they went onto0 Earth inhabiting people, and they are the cause of all evil. The religion is also really made to make money. You have to pay money to get a higher level in the religion. So no, they don't believe in god.
