What do you think of people who are born one gender but feel they are really another?

If you get the Lifetime Channel, there was a movie on about Gwen Aruajo, a boy who became a girl because he felt that was the gender he was supposed to have. He was beaten and killed later in his life when a group of boys found this out.

I was so upset when I saw it. some people are so narrow minded. If you want to be a girl, but you are a boy, I think it is fine. As long as you are comfortable in your own body.

Errm..wouldn't this be tied in with homosexual marriges? I may be wrong..I dunno.

But if not, I think it's the person's decision to be what they want to be.

I didn't think so, because this is about people altering their looks and lifestyle to become a different gender. There is a difference between homosexuality and transexuality.

I support transgender people. You should be as happy as can be in life, and if changing genders makes you happy, by all means, go for it.

I support it. You should be whatever makes you happy. I once read a wonderful book called Luna about boy who felt that he was really a girl.

If they feel that they should be the gender that is opposite theirs. I say go for it. I would give them my full support. People shouldnt be who they dont want to be because other people think who they want to be is wrong. I should have put that in smaller words but, I cant think right, right now...

I'm sorry, but I really don't agree.

I don't wish any harm to those people who have had/want a sex change but I just think it's plain weird.

We are what gender we are. We shouldn't be able to change that. :/

I pretty much agree with Samara.

Also, I think it is really mean when people who have chnaged genders go to start relationships with people without being completely honest.
I mean really, it has got to be an extremely nasty surprise when you find out that they didn't start off as the gender that they are now...

I kinda agree with you there. About the honest part. I mean, If I changed my gender, I would let my partner know.

Question- If you change your gender, and date the opposite gender [the gender you used to be] would that be considered a...umm..how should I put it..homosexual relationship?

One of my mom's good friend ,Mrs.Jennifer, is Transgenders. She is really just like every other woman i know except she use to be a man. But she’s really sweet and fun to talk to. I would NEVER talk bad about her, she has been though a lot to get to where she is today and i admire her for that!!

I think Transexuals and Transgenders are just normal people and should be treat so!!

I read that story in a magazine awhile ago and it made me cry. I was really happy when the movie came out cause it was imforming the world how brutal and narrow-minded people are. Even though the story was sad it was beautiful. Love is love. You feel how you feel. No one can change that.

We are what gender we are. We shouldn't be able to change that. :/

No. I disagree.

You're born with genital organs. You're born with a brain. Two totally different organs. Sometimes, your brain tells you your genital organs aren't right, you don't match. You want to be something else, you want that so badly yet you're so ashamed and you don't understand. Going through adolesence is the worst, you're growing and changing in a way that is so different from the way you feel inside. Your face doesn't fit. You don't fit. You don't even belong in yourself, it seems. Do you know how much torture that is?

We aren't 'what gender we are'. Our gender is defined by an organ, a piece of muscle tissue. Yet what reallly makes us, what really decides us is our mind.

Changing gender is about matching your asthetic to the way you feel indside. You aren't just going from penis to vagina, you're going from a person who doesnt belong within their own skin to a person who is whole, complete.

If you haven't been paying attention thus far, I can safely say i'm very, very pro transgendered people.

Amazing. No one could have said it better.
I could never, ever, ever begin to imagine how it would feel to be so confused like that for my entire life.

I have mixed feelings about this. It's kind of hard for me to say a straight opinion because I've never met a transgender so I wouldn't really have any prior knowledge. If that makes any sense.

I think it's just a matter of choice. If you want to be a girl, eff yeah. If you want to be a guy, that's awesome.
I just think those pussies who are too afraid of what other people would think should stand up for their rights and beliefs.

I still disagree with sex changes.

As I've already said nothing against those who wish to have it done or who have had it done. And I never said there's anything wrong with those people.

But, in MY opinion I just don't feel it's right for people to change their gender.

And I still stick with what I said before. We are what gender we are and we shouldn't be able to change that.

If there was no surgery offering to change you from having a penis to a vagina no one would even think twice about having a sex change.

I think it's an oppotunity we shouldn't have.

If that were true, no one would ever have bothered to find out how to do it.
