F'NMTV is Pete Wentz's pet project on MTV. They premiere four music videos and have a live performance every Friday night, hence the FN. (Hahaha, Pete, you are ever so clever.  ) Mostly it's just the pop and hip-hop drabble they play on TRL, but Pete does try to include some of the more hipster-friendly alt rock stuff coming out. I had trouble choking down the first episode for PATD's performance, so I don't watch it if I can help myself. |

i bet that about 1% of the mcr fans had ever heard about mindless self indulgence before gerard married lindsey. and then, all of a sudden, everybody started listening to msi and going all like "oh my god they're so good, lyn-z is so pretty and she's such a talented bass player"; basically kissing msi's ass. i'm not saying that they wouldn't be a great band 'cause they are, i've listened to them for a couple of years and i wouldn't do that if they weren't ass-kicking, but what i'm saying is that they were a band before, they actually existed before gerard and lyn-z met. gerard marrying one of them doesn't make them any more special. even though they're now getting more of the recognition they deserve, it can't be very flattering to be noticed only through mcr. and all this "i love lyn-z" and "i support ger-z" thingys are so weird to me. if she wasn't gerard's wife, you wouldn't love her like that. most of you wouldn't even know her. i wouldn't wanna be known only through my husband, especially when i knew that without him all those people wouldn't give a shit about me. so, in a nutshell; msi is great. lyn-z is great. the reasons why people respect her and her band are pretty low.
plus isn't mcr a band? and aren't bands about music? i don't know where the music culture is going these days, but to me mcr is amazing music and five great guys giving their hearts into it; not their personal lives. and as far as i know, lyn-z belongs to the personal lives -section.
feel free to hate me, i can see that about half of you people have lyn-z avatars and stuff. i won't be visiting here after this anyway 'cause i'm moving and not having internet for several months.

while i totally respect what your saying, i dont agree. honestly, the fact that i love msi has nothing to do with mcr. i bought YRTA in 2005, while in 6th grade. i was already into mcr at the time, but didnt get into msi because of them. but, i dont think just because gerard married lyn-z all these fans here only respect her for that. the women has done well to say she wants to be a role model for girls as musicians and does not want to be "mrs. gerard way". its true, many people found msi through mcr, but that doesnt mean thats the reason they like them. good charlotte are friends with mcr, but i dont like them!
personally, i do respect that you are voicing your opinion, but msi fans are msi fans, no matter how new or old. and besides, jimmy loves getting his ass kissed.  |

i can't even be bothered to explain myself but for the record i found MSI just before Lyn-Z and Gerard married.
my friend helen has been a fan a long time and introduced me and then it was cause i thought wow a band not many people know and i really liked them next thing i know gerard and lyn-z have been pictured kissing, it freaked me the fuck out.
MSI are more of my favourite band than MCR anyway, but neither of them are my actual favourite bands.. soo. that title goes to the Guns of course (Guns N' Roses)
but yeah it is disgusting that people go to MSI shows just to get a glimpse of the chance of gerard standing at the side of the stage watching && that lyn-z is now mrs gerard way.

P.S. 13 year old teenies at MSI shows annoy me :\
there was a time where i saw MSI supporting MCR and if i remember rightly i felt like the only one that knew the words and all the other MCR ''fans'' just stood there and abused them (although jimmy likes it) still next thing i go to an MSI headline show and i have never seen so many 13 year old scene kids in my life.. there were more in MCR merch than there were MSI 
but yeah i've said that soooo many times now it bores me.. i kinda got used to them mythering MSI now.
but everyband reaches that point where everyone kisses their ass even if MSI got recognised the wrong way through MCR
and on the otherhand of all this, why does it matter when you become a fan of a band just as long as your in it for the music, thats all that matters. like you said Lyn-Z and gerard is personal.. people liking the band for that is disgusting. |

I do hate the fans that are just there because of Gerard, but, I also know that not all new fans are like that.
It's worse for me because I always go to the Lyn-Z side and that's where they go! They have no shame either. I mean if I were in a pit of CRAZY, hot, sweaty, impatient MSI fans I would so not start talking about mcr and then stupid crap like that. I'm suprised nobody attacked them.
and the people who wear mcr shirts to msi shows.... *shakes head* I just feel bad for them. |

I agree with this, I'll admit, I had never heard of MSI until Projekt Rev and the whole Gee/Lyn-Z thing. But I listened to them on youtube and didn't like them, as I weren't into that type of music. But around Christmas I started to look for new music to listen to and I gave them a second chance and discovered that I actually liked them. |

BUUUUUUT then I came across the vid for "Shut Me Up" on YouTube, and I couldn't get it out of my head for like a week. Then it was "Stupid MF" and "Bitches," and THEN I had to check how they did live, and it was incredible. Of course, that just led to me reluctantly watching interviews of them and discovering that Lyn-Z is pretty much the coolest human being EVER. Needless to say, she and the band earned my blessing after that, and I plan on seeing them in the fall. |

I had heard about MSI back in 2005 but it was a live video I watched and I thought it was awesome! and I think the video I had watched live version was Shut Me Up but at that time I could not find their music anywhere!!! so I kinda left it alone then I heard about Projekt Rev. and I was woah that band again! and then I could find their music haha. they came back to me! |

I am a fairly new MSI fan, and yes, I did find them through Gerards relationship with Lyn-Z.
But does that make me any less of a fan?
I'm not sitting here and saying that they are the best band ever that I love Lyn-Z and so on, but I just generally like their music.
Am I not a real fan then? Just because I found them through Gerard/Lyn-Z?
You're going to have to accept that when two people from different bands marry, they both will get fans that have discovered them through the marriage.
But then again, I do understand your frustration with it all.
