I quote her mom saying "Chemical? what are they in love with drugs or somthing? Do they do heroin?" this was pretty much them well she's going to the concert because we told her mom it was a 'Hedley' concert |

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 288 | November 24th, 2006 at 09:41pm Ergh. My parents want my little sis to listen to this peppy, happy, everything-will-always-be-alright-crap. O.o When I come down to visit from my University, I get her the music she wants, thank God. Or she would've been some Hilary Duff...Think happy thoughts.
I got her The Black Parade last week; she loves it. My parents don't know I'm slipping her the music because; yeah. The whole deal with the "meaning" of My Chemical Romance; all about drugs, although that's only part of it, and he's sober and clean now, thankyouverymuch.
And they think that they curse more than other music today. 0.O
She's 13; they're a little overprotective of her than they were with me. -shrug- |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 283 | November 25th, 2006 at 03:32pm I am training my parents to recognise MCR, so far my dad's learning the best. He'll walk in my room and be like "This is my chemical romance, right?" but maybe he only knows because I play them almost constantly =P At least he shows an interest and isn't trying to tell me what to listen to and stuff.
My mum's still kinda clueless though. |

My mother also thinks that "the kids from the band" (wtf? Haha, she's getting old) are cute, and that Gerard's new blond look is really cute, and looks better on him than long black hair. |

 Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 699 | November 26th, 2006 at 02:17am Okay...
First they didn't care. Then my dad got stuck coming to the HOB concert in Chicago with me last month. Once he knew that, he actually started to listen to WTTBP on TV. Decides he likes it- cool with me. He enjoyed the concert, so I made him listen to the new album in its entirety.
Second, my family ended up on a roadtrip, forcing my mother to listen to TBP, b/c my dad and I out voted her. She was annoyed, but dealt with it, and slept through most of it.
Next, due to problems beyond my control, I no longer have my old car. So I have the TBP CD in the car my parents and I share. Next thing I know, I go on another roadtrip with my parents and we listened to the whole album (their choice) all the way through once, and then Dad went back and repeated WTTBP and Mom repeated Teenagers... five times each... Other songs repeated were Disenchanted 3 times (b/c I wanted it, and so did my mother) and House of Wolves (b/c I wanted it).
After that trip, my parents keep singing Teenagers non stop... I can't listen to it anymore... |
