I'm still gutted though and the bit about Jonathan being a huge fan made me gag as he kind of made fun of them when I went to the recording of the Xmas show (the one with Lee Evans and Jarvis Cocker on). He said they were depressing, so we booed him lol!
Here's the email:
Thank you for your e-mail regarding 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross',
broadcast on 13 April.
We regret that you were upset by the absence of My Chemical Romance on
this show.
The situation was beyond our control. The band's drummer was unwell,
and 'My Chemical Romance' cancelled their performance on the show at the
last minute.
Jonathan did not mention My Chemical Romance on the show out of respect
for the Kings of Leon, who stepped in to replace them, which I'm sure
you can understand.
Jonathan is a huge fan of MCR, and we hope to feature them on a future
show.
Please be assured that your comments have been fully registered and
added to our daily audience log. This is an internal document that is made
available to all BBC staff, including the 'Friday Night with Jonathan
Ross' production team and senior BBC management.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

If it was recorded about three weks ago, then I'm sure Bob is fine now.
They cancelled their coming to TRL on mtv-germany too (this was in the first April week). But I've never never received an answer about the reasons from mtv. Fans who had tickets for the show were told on the phone that is was cancelled last minute.
So this seems to happen...and yep I agree that the Kings of Leon (who are pretty good) should been left out of the discussion of course. |

And Frank was better by then, BUT he was sick only a week or so before then, and maybe they can canceled because they weren't sure whether he'd be better in time? Or maybe they thought he needed extra rest.
