sleep in your car are you serious?!
surprisingly i have found 2 people who said they'll really think about coming, without me begging and pleading. Although I am still afraid that I'll have to rescue both of them from the mosh pit as neither have been in a mosh before. Ugh.
I'd probably think about doing the melbourne show after I come back from melbourne next week...as i've never been away so far by myself...dunno if i could manage it. It'll be great if i could see the sydney show from the mosh and the melbourne one seated & breathe in everything.
edit: hang on...the melbourne show is only a day after the sydney one! that makes it so suspicious for my parents...how am i to explain and tell them i'm sensible? (i really think the idea is insane but i am insane about mcr) |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 2188 | July 13th, 2007 at 01:03pm ahaha domeofstars...i don't have too much experience in a mosh but the mcr one in jan gave me the best feeling. the only bad part was the start when everyone was pushing but the rest was so fun with all the sweat dripping down your face- people weren't rough...but it might be different for these big shows!
oh yeh- i was so paranoid in the mosh- i tied my shoelaces so tight my feet were so bound...and i wore cargo shorts with 11 pockets so i had my lollies & everything there. |

With the mosh, probably not the best idea to be near the front & in the middle if you've never been in a mosh before
Best to work your way to the front from the sides.
Unlike what my friends & I did at our first ever big concert.

Yeh, I'd say unless you can get right at the barrier, where you've got something to push back against, and nobody blocking your fresh air supply, then stay towards the sides for your first one, so that you dont freak out and think you're going to die.
edit: yeh, amy, i have a suprisingly comfortable to sleep in car. The boot is actually a really good place to sleep if I have pillows. dont ask how I know this. alot of vodka was involved. i just gotta make sure i pass my test next week. |

that's what my instincts told me to do...it's easy enough when you don't have to find your friends amongst the people- it doesn't look rude that you're weaving in & out of people. |

oh gosh now it's not just sleeping in the car but in the boot?! that's actually smart...well if you have a 5 seater with the back seats that can flip down so you don't have to open the boot itself.
now i really feel like lining up for the barrier. I couldn't sleep properly last night- i was so excited! |

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 1274 | July 13th, 2007 at 01:17pm lol, yeh, it is a hatchback, and its very easy to get to the main car from the boot. I wasn't just crazily locking myself in the boot.
I'm sooooooooooooo excited. I just have to convince my parents to le tme go to adelaide alone, as I'm pretty sure my one friend who adores them enough to come with me, can't afford it. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 493 | July 13th, 2007 at 01:39pm I'll probably be flying down to Sydney by myself and staying at a cheap hotel (OMG this will be my first huge taste of being totally by myself!) so hopefully I can find some lovely INO-ers to meet up with at the concert |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 16770 | July 13th, 2007 at 02:02pm I will be at the Sydney show and flying up to Brisbane and down to Melbourne.
I've figured out that it will cost around $550 and that is without accomodation.
You just need to research the cheapest ways of getting there.
Some tips for Sydney/NSW residents -
Virgin Blue have the cheapest flights up to Brisbane and vica versa - $75
Jetstar have the cheapest flights down to Melbourne and vica versa - $79 |
