you have such a nice uncle kayles! do you have floor tickets? I'm wondering who's gonna be an idiot & line up at 9am with me.

yesss i'm so standing on frank's side if i don't get the middle. *poor ray* yeah unapologetic empathy, i've never seen frank with my own eyes! I hope he does his playing-guitar-squirming-on-floor thing when he plays Thankyou for the Venom or something.

Oh my gawsh.
On Channel [V], they played I'm Not Okay, and I honestly felt like crying or something.
>.<
Pathetic, I know.
It's so selfish, but I just want the old MCR back.
The old band that no one knew, and if they happen to know the band, would call you names for liking them or whatever.
The grungy, angsty, dark MCR with the misfit band members and all that jazz.
>.<

^ yeh the black parade somehow changed everything...attracted the mainstream audience i'd have to admit. I lent my friend (who doesn't get the whole 'dark-side-of-music' deal & black clothing) & he was like- wow i'm surprised they're very creative.

^^ I think about that a lot. The days when just me and my friend knew them and if we mentioned them people would just say "... who?". And you felt so awesome loving this band that scarecly anyone else knew. Like they were all yours and no one else could have them. They weren't perfect, they were raw, and you loved them all the more for it.

*sigh*

You guys are making me so nostalgic. I miss that too.

I miss when being a My Chem fan was this 'me against the world' feeling. I miss saying 'My Chemical Romance' and no one knew what I was talking about.

I wish I could've seen them Bullets or Revenge era.

Bullets era would have been awesome. Like that show they spoke about where they only had like 3 people [and the homeless guy who tried to sell them a bootleg of their own set XDDD]. Imagine being on the bandwagon right from the onset, being able to say "I saw it all happen from the very start, I was there from the entire ride and I watched them grow."

The only thing that annoys me with that is new fans who try to make out like they've been a fan for years. It's as bad as those who jump on the 'MCR saved my life' bandwagon not because they did, but because they wanna be part of the crowd. I have so much respect for fans that say "Yeah, I only discovered them during The Black Parade" or something. Whoa, that was tangential lol. Anyway...

I only wish when I saw them in the Revenge era that they had have worn the Revenge outfits. I'm hoping so bad that they do this time around when they perform as MCR.

NEON WORDS GLOWING.:

you know what, I get what you mean about no one knowing MCR before- even when I jumped right into mcr when TBP came out, I used to tell everyone about it & asked all my friends to come to the concert with me & NONE of them knew what they were. I managed to have a very short 'my-own-mcr-&-no-one-knows-them' time Mr. Green

I even printed out WTTBP lyrics & made my friends read it.

but no, I'd never say mcr saved my life. But I'd definitely say mcr changed my life or helped me change my life the way I wanted it. The effect of it at first was rather scary, looking back about a year ago, I had an obsession with wearing just black jeans & black t-shirt & black belt, & black eyeliner & black or red shoes & no jewellry. I couldn't wear anything else. & I didn't do it to 'fit in' because there wasn't a crowd like that anywhere i knew. As you say, neon words, it was pure 'me against the world' even a short time before mcr came into the picture & when I discovered mcr, it was even more 'me against the world' plus mcr being on the 'me' side.

So i'm saying that the black parade is still powerful mcr stuff even though it may appear not to be compared to 3 cheers or bullets.

Ditto.

I think The Black Parade is still amazing. It's probably, quality wise, their best yet. But for me it's amazing for all different reasons. It's more professional, more polished. It's a different MCR. And it's great that they're evolving. But when something is as good as MCR's last two 'eras' were, you're always going to miss it and wish to revisit it, no matter how good the present is. Who knows, come the next album we could find ourselves saying 'I miss the TBP era.'

The thing I love about Revenge, when it came out I absolutely whored it. I mean I played it for 3 weeks straight all day every day before I even listened briefly to anything else. So for me it's a musical bookmark of sorts - because I played it so much every time I hear it it brings back memories and feelings and emotions of that time in my life. The same way a certain smell can almost transport you to another time. For that, it's probably my favourite, or most important, album.

Regardless, this concert is going to kill and I can't wait. Cept I can. ...but I can't. Go team I make no sense.

^ yess isn't it amazing how music can transport you back in time & make you nostalgic. But it only works when you listen to songs you haven't heard in months, so I don't get it with mcr & hope I never do because 1- it means I've stopped listening to them & 2- I'll die of nostalgia XD

I can't even remember the last time I intentionally listened to MCR =/

I'm not really excited anymore =[
I probably will be closer to the actual concert though lol

But wasn't the Green Day tour the first time MCR toured here?
It could be a good thing they're huge now, 'cause [as my friend pointed out] now they can afford and have more fans to pay for tickets to come here and stuff.
Even though it'll be harder to buy tickets.
But I know what you guys mean. :[

I'm still very much excited, but not in the same way I have been previously, I think mostly because I never really enjoy big shows as much as smaller ones. I would absolutely love to hear some bullets stuff, some of my favourite songs are on that album.

Gosh you guys, this has turned into a depressing thread!

I was talking to my mum this morning and found out that she actually wants to see MCR at the Brisbane show. And I'm like...you're telling me this now? I didn't know she liked them that much!

So now I'm trying to get my hands on a seated ticket which isn't in rows S or T :\

^^ I wouldn't call it depressing. Just... nostaligic, perhaps.

I think almost all of us know that the concert is going to go off.

Yeah I suppose I'm coming from a different perspective cause I got into MCR after the Revenge era (not that I don't completely love Bullets and Three Cheers). But yeah the show is going to amazing, I have no doubt. I keep reading old reviews and seeing photos of the shows and getting really excited ^_^
