you guys have a good point there. True that MCR doesn't owe fans anything other than performance & music. On the fan-side point of view, it's a slight problem when you've taken their music to heart so much that you just want to thank them personally but may not have the perfect chance to do that especially when MCR is already mobbed by fans everywhere they go. I'm just gonna try, but I promise to myself I'll try my best to be understanding if they ignore
^ sounds like MCR & Aiden's on the same trajectory. Isn't is strange that whenever bands say they want to try something different they immediately start losing some of the older fans? I don't blame people for their tastes tho.
i remember hearing that story Rhiannon! that was amazing. |

Melbourne four-piece The Getaway Plan has been announced as tour support for emo-clad rockers My Chemical Romance.
The Victorian lads, who will join US guests Circa Survive (also slated to play), were hand-picked by MCR to join them on their arena tour, which hits up Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide in late November and early December.
Tickets for the shows are currently on sale. The boys' debut record Other Voices, Other Rooms, which was recorded in Florida by James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, New Found Glory), is set for release in February 2008.

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 1924 | October 7th, 2007 at 01:07pm I'm basically a concert virgin. Is it at all possible to meet the band after the show? Or is that an American thing? And also, the Getaway Plan is awesome, should be a cool show =)
And all the stuff about Gerard brushing off fans. I get the whole teenybopper thing, I'd get annoyed too. But not everyone is like that. |

You can meet the band after the show if you wait around afterwards, but it's not guaranteed. Like last time, they didn't come out at Melbourne (unless you count them piss-bolting to the Tarago) but came out at other shows. It's all just chance. If you want to wait around after you can, but bear in mind you could wait there for 4 or so hours only to have security tell you that they've left.
As far as going early, really, it's up to you. No time will guarantee you anything because there will always be people there earlier than you, people who camp out. Just bear in mind that if you're too tired fatigue will get you when you're inside and you wont be able to enjoy the show. Also bear in mind that it could all be for nothing, as people will push in line last minute. It's happened to me at every show I've lined up for, save for the handful where I was at the front of the line. It all boils down to how early you're prepared to go. |

It stills seems unlikely, so I guess it won't really hit me until I'm there, kinda thing. XD |

IMO, before the show definately.
I think alot of the merch would be sold out by the end of the show, so I'd do it beforehand to get what you want. |

Definately before.
At the Sydney concert earlier this year (the Hordern one anyway), everything sold out reeeeally quickly.
I was so annoyed.
I really wanted one of the hoodies, and the girl in front of me in the line got the last one.
It was my size & everything >.<

We don't get the whole production after all. "/ That's the only reason I got seats in the first place.
Even less reason for me to go. >=[ |

All the media releases about the tour said it was the full Black Parade stage show =[
Hopefully he was just being an arse.

And, yeah, lmfao I wouldn't believe half the shit that comes out of that guy's mouth.
But, from the looks of things it is true. Fingers cross, however, that it's not. |

Gerard may be sick of the Black Parade (who would blame him- if I was him I'd be lacking any more emotions in the singing by the time I get to the 70th show) but he just can't call off the theatrics & pyros & etc stuff just because he feels like it. That would be very unprofessional- i mean, they are in the mainstream music industry & people have more or less paid to see the full show.
But it sounds assuring we might be getting the old MCR back after this album.
i am very sympathetic for the guys though- they haven't had a home for a whole year. But if they started it they have to finish it- properly. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | October 10th, 2007 at 09:25am Gee said they wouldn't come back to Aus unless they could do the full tour. They can't say they're doing the full tour then just not do it. And when I say can't, I totally mean morally lol. I dunno what the legal ramifications would be.
... just thinking, I hope the fact that they added TGP to the tour wasn't because MCR are only playing one set now. I fucking hate rumour mills. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 2188 | October 10th, 2007 at 09:39am they are going to kill their own band if they don't respect Australians down here. We expect they keep their word.
then again, I don't want to get fired up over a rumour. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | October 10th, 2007 at 09:42am Hehe, they so will. It would take me a lot to get pissed of with them, but that would do it.
I'm just hoping he meant it was the end of TBP for that show only. I can see how it could be misinterpreted so easily. I guess we wont know unless something official is said. |
