Thanks for posting this link, Deb. It's always nice to hear Gerard's voice. He sounded so cute and caught-off-guard at 12:10 when he was all, "Ohmigod! ...I don't know anything about Final Crisis." lol
And what happened at 14:55? The audio cuts off for a few seconds. That's kinda funny, too, actually.
Thanks again! |

Haha I laughed too when he said "I don't even know what the original crisis was" because I don't either! |

The "original" Crisis was the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" series written by Marv Wolfman and pencilled by George Perez in 1985. DC had too many things going on, their crossovers didn't make sense, and there were like a zillion universes with like a zillion different versions of their characters. The "Crisis" killed off pretty much everything except for the original versions of everyone (the infamous Death of Supergirl cover is from that series) and reset the DC universe. So if a comic geek mentions that something happened "pre-Crisis", it means before that series was published. Continuity since is considered "post-Crisis." That's it in a nutshell.
However, they did it all over with Infinite Crisis by Geoff Johns and various artists (Perez, Jimenez, Reis, and Ordway), and so now there's the Final Crisis series coming up by Grant Morrison and JG Jones with a bunch of various tie-in issues because they think we can buy like 40 issues or something. More info here. (edit = Final Crisis #1 is now available. With two covers. Bastards. But I got one anyway because I was $3 shy of a stamp on my sub card. At the rate I'm going, I'll get the shiny TUA Ltd. Ed. for free just by turning in all my stamp cards.)

You sure are knowledgeable. I haven't been to the comic book universe since X-Men, like, over ten years ago. Hence, I was more concerned about Gerard and the sound of his voice in this interview (closet teennie). |

Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 1831 | May 31st, 2008 at 05:51pm Thanks, guys. I kinda have an insider view on Crisis though, so it's not really that big of a deal.
However, and to get a little more back to topic: according to the most recent issue of Previews, the Limited Edition hardcover is slated for an October release. The trade paperback is listed for July. So anyone who wants the shiny limited edition has 3 extra months to save up for it. |

Bess Houdini:The audio interview isn't working for me.
Yeah I know - it works but only from the front page, not as a link, for some weird reason. The link does work on my laptop; I have no idea why. At the bottom of the transcript is a link to e-mail the editor; I've been asking everyone to inundate him with complaints so he'll fix the problem, and maybe put the audio in the podcast section as well, where it belongs, as well as repair the myspace links in the transcript. |
