I think that the Perl Harbor bombing really shaped modern day life.
I know what your thinking, a bombing?
Yes, a bombing.
This bombing signalled the call for the Americans to join the Allies to defeat Hitler and his Nazi regime. If America had not got into the war, Hitler MAY have been successful in conquering the world.
Luckily, with the help of Britan, Canada and France, America was successful in winning against Hitler.
We would all be 'German" if not for that bombing.
Even in that tragic circumstance, it was a wakeup call for all of North America.

& The British Empire. The most powerful empire in the world. Without that, there probably wouldn't be such good connections with countries. By setting up colonies and such, half the world speaks English, which is good.

I think his running as the president of Iraq will go down in history more than in death.
But I can see him being forgotten soon enough.
Partly because people know he was a terrible man.
But I don't think half as many people know why.
And if we don't know why he's terrible (although I know some do, just not enough), him and his ways will be forgotten.

WW2 showed women could work, and do things a man could.
Without it, all women might still have just been nurses and housewives.

But, however. I believe the Civil Rights Movement changed alot of things back in history. Without guys like Martin Luther King etc who was the leader of the Civil Rights Movement, we'd still be seperated into white and coloured. |

I would also agree with those who said that 9/11 was a very important day, in many more ways than we immediately think. I think 9/11, in retrospect, may be seen as a defining/revolutionizing moment in modern history and culture. |
